BACK TO THE FIFTIES This little 1949 Chevy Sport Coupe has been modified to resemble what it would probably have looked like in the early 50’s. Trunk lid has been shaved, and opens by means of a pull cable beside the front seat. The hood has been shaved of emblems and ornaments. The 216 cubic inch engine is equipped with Carter W-1 carburetors on a Offenhauser dual manifold. Fenton Dual Exhaust Headers. Offenhauser Rocker arm cover. Very nice dark red and black interior with black carpeting. All new flat glass and windshield. The Back glass was removed and reinstalled using a Steele Rubber gasket. Along with the new windshield and Steele Rubber Gasket. New window channels and fuzzies. Vent windows have new rubber Seals. Metallic maroon paint done in 2013. Lancer style spinner wheel covers. 5 New 6.70-15 B.F. Goodrich wide whitewall tires in 2013. The previous owner bought new front and rear floor pans and installed them. The trunk is solid and detailed nicely. The steering is tight and the 3 speed on the column shifts the transmission as it should. The brakes work good. The previous owner also did a nice installation of a, after market speedometer. And added a Tachometer. The car still retains it’s 6 volt electrical system. All the gauges work. Bumpers and bumper guards re plated. All 4 shock absorbers have been replaced. Pretty nice little coupe.
