Vehicle Detail

If you don’t want crowds gathering around your car and people (mostly women) wanting to take photos beside it, don’t read any further. I purchased this wonderful Exige from the original owner and he first purchased it new while living in PA (through a Lotus dealer in Chicago) and had Bruce Harvey of Pro Comp Custom in Glenshaw design and apply a 2-Eleven paint scheme to the stock Saffron Yellow paint. The black stripes and silver finish were clear coated and the paint looks amazing, no nibs or fisheye, show quality. Photos don’t do it justice, when seen live it really brings forth the aggressive nature of the Exige and there isn’t another one that looks this great. I was told this was a $10k+ job (due to the artistry) and it looks the part. All Lotus aficionados will really appreciate this one. The original owner then moved to Phoenix and lived there for years before I purchased the car. Vehicle history reports show two owners but it's really the same person registering in different states. This Exige is so interesting to look at I have had people almost drive off the road as I go past them, it really commands attention…lots of thumbs up. This Exige is fitted with the Touring Pack, sport exhaust and has required little work as it only has 14k miles. Essentially regular oil changes, one set of new Toyo R888’s (1k miles) since the old tires were original, oil line to cooler retrofit (recall), clear bra, and Sector 111 lug nut conversion kit were all that this reliable car has required. Body and undercarriage are damage free, wheel alignment just completed by Custom Alignment in Mountain View, drivetrain drives like new. The absence of the track pack gives the car a more docile feel when running on the streets, but when needed, it will fly through the twisties. The car sits covered in my garage while not being driven on weekends. If you’ve never driven an Exige it’s really a wonderful experience. The twin cam GTS motor spins up quickly and propels the car with go-kart like handling through backroads or mountains like nothing else. The RPM’s really climb quickly when the variable valve timing kicks in at around 4500 RPM. Also, the balance of the mid-engine provides neutral handling with very high limits, especially with the new Toyo R888’s. Plus, the super smooth short-throw 6 speed and light clutch can’t be beat- all this while listening to the upgraded Blaupunkt sound system, with Air Conditioning and Power Windows. This car needs nothing, just a new owner to jump in and enjoy the thrill of driving a street legal race car. I have taken lots of photos in order to show you every aspect, please check them all out at: http://the911guy.imgur.com/all/ I also demonstrate the car running around my neighborhood, but you’ll need to excuse the audio, it’s of poor quality. http://youtu.be/py-35ostoRs The sport exhaust really sounds great. I will be showing this car during Monterey Car Week (this week) in Carmel CA if you’d like to meet and talk about the Exige. The winner of the auction will be fully responsible for providing me with a Cashier’s Check in the amount of the winning bid within three (3) business days of auction close and vehicle must be picked up within eight (8) days of the auction ending. With a purchase like this it is impractical to finance; winning bidder should have cash funds available. If you would rather fly and drive, I am located 20 minutes from San Jose’s Mineta International airport and can come to pick you up. Don’t hesitate to contact me (408) 600-4691 if you have any questions, Enjoy! On Aug-10-14 at 22:47:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Base color is factory Solar Yellow not Saffron. On Aug-15-14 at 09:01:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all of the interest in this great Lotus Exige, I had a number of questions and some phone calls and I wanted to provide answers to them and other comments as we near the end of the auction. 1. Please see all 38 photos on the Imgur link provided in the description. 2. I will not sell the car off eBay, it will be sold to the highest bidder this Sunday. I don't believe in "Reserves," the market will dictate the price. Please, no scams, I am an eBay employee (and a car enthusiast.) Let's make sure this car goes to another enthusiast and not a reseller. 3. No known mechanical nor electrical flaws, everything works as new 4. The car was never hit, bumped, nor scratched, no door ding chips either. Just normal light wear from 14k miles of driving. 5. This Exige does not have the track pack, no harness bar and no LSD, it does have the touring pack which provides carpeting, extra insulation (for sound), and leather seating 6. The car will have no problems driving across the country. If you do decide to transport it this way, take frequent stops just to stretch as the Exige rides and drives much more aggressively than most modern sports cars. You will get questions about it at every stop. Also, luggage compartment is relatively small. 7. My schedule next week will not allow me to transfer the vehicle Aug 20-22 due to travel, all other days are fine. 8. I do hold a clean California Title and have both license plates. If a California buyer wins, I will have it smog certified before pick up. 9. Sunday is also the last day of the big Monterey Car week and there will be hundreds of vehicles being transported back East next week. If you are planning to have this vehicle transported you should be calling your favorite carrier or one of these four today to get estimates on cost and timing: Intercity Lines, Horseless Carriage, C. Thomas Sunday, Reliable. Don't use a broker to get shipping for you, unless you want your Exige to be a part of a TV show. I don't know if timing to ship would be better this coming week or the last week of August, but that's up to you. 10. Reason for selling: Needs to go to an enthusiast that will use it more, plus I am the 911 guy and not the Exige guy. 11. Lotus no longer imports the Exige and prices have been going up, not down....just don't wreck it and you'll do fine. Great chance to get a good looking collector at a reasonable price. 12. I have added two close up photos to the Imgur link showing two half inch areas (not noticeable) where the clear bra has lifted a bit due to application skill, one is on the driver's mirror and the other is the left wheel well just a slight lift. These two areas can probably be fixed with a light adhesive or patched with clear bra film, but would leave that up to your local clear bra professional. The paint and clear coat underneath are unaffected. Don't hesitate to "ask seller a question" or call me about the car prior to auction end. I can answer any questions or provide you additional photos if needed. Good Luck Bidding.
