For sale: 1998 E38 740iL Runs excellent, a/c blows cold, too many options to list (such as power headrests, heated steering wheel, etc..) Garage kept, well cared for, and well maintained E38 with service records from 2006. I've had the car since late 2004. See below a quick list (not nearly all inclusive) of maintenance performed on this vehicle and, if cared for, should run strong for many years! I have a folder in the trunk with all the records if you want to check them out. Between 2010 and 2012 I drove to Pennsylvania from South Carolina about once a month and this accounts for some of the miles, otherwise it would be less. I feel inclined to warn potential buyers that this car is not for everyone since it's expensive to maintain. However, I will also say it's an amazing machine to drive. Last time I took it in (March), the mechanics were happy with it. However, I'll admit the 'ABS' light came on when I was driving in a torrential downpour, but has since been off. Could be the ABS module or a sensor on one of the wheel wells...I'm not sure, but the light has stayed off and didn't come on in the rain recently. You can't fix something that's not broken, but I wouldn't not disclose something I knew about. Just with any 16 year old car, it's just a matter of time for the next fix. In my opinion, the car is in excellent shape and wouldn't hesitate to drive across the the country. The last few years of maintenance/repairs should keep this car running strong!! Have new oil filter, air filter, cabin filter in boxes (will place in trunk upon sale) Not an all inclusive list, but trying to build a picture of the maintenance performed on this vehicle. 90% of the time a BMW dealership was used (have mostly all work performed receipts - just don't add the total $ in front of me).
