Vehicle Detail

1973 Porsche 914 1.7L I am the third owner of this vehicle the first owner purchased it in Beverly Hills and was sold it after two years. The second owner owned the it for the next 21 years and took fantastic care of the car. I bought the Porsche in 1996. PAINT- It is on it third coat of paint but probably the best originally the car was Signal Orange. The previous owner painted it Gun Metal Gray but after 20 years it needed some help. I painted the Porsche a pearl white which is a PPG paint from a Cadillac. I customized the paint a little and added a blue diamond tinge to the color. The paint job was professional done in 2005 and cost over $4000. BODY- During the painting I had the window sprayers removed and smoothed and the side markers are also removed and smoothed. The front windshield was replaced and I had a narrow rubber seal installed instead of the wide steel trim cover. Other additions during my ownership is the five lug conversion. Wheels are 14" real Fuchs. The front brake rotors are from a 1969 Porsche 911 I also upgraded the brake master cylinder to 19mm. The car has very little rust. The original antenna is removed and smoothed and replace with a custom retractable power antenna that is located in the left side of the engine compartment. I added fog stock Porsche fog lights and grill covers. In the back between the tail light there is a Porsche 911 taillight lens. The 911 plastic lens covers the lock and push button for the rear trunk so currently there is an pull cable release. There was a electric solenoid that used to pop the trunk but is stopped working years ago. INTERIOR- I replaced the top dash with another original dash that has NO CRACKS!! which is probably the last crack free dash in existence. Part of the secret is do not use Armor All on the dash and of course keep it parked in garage. The radio is about two years old, purchased particularly for the Bluetooth feature but also has detachable face, touch screen, DVD small but functional it kept my boys entertained for many hours. I enjoy the capability to stream Pandora and other media, plus USB port. ENGINE- The engine is a very original 1.7L it still has the D-Jet fuel injection and it works great. The exhaust is a new Sebring and installed 3 months ago. I had the distributor rebuilt about a month ago for about $700. The 1973 914 1.7L is a very desirable year, no smog, The 1.7L is a great motor, just enough power and great mileage. There was a time when I got 35 MPG in recent years it gets about 25-30MPG. I can't say how many actual miles are on the car, the odometer is not working. That about covers all the good, now for the bad. The motor is running rough and compression in all cylinders is low the lowest is about 80 PSI. Auto Atlanta sell rebuilt motors for 2K I would buy one and put it in myself but the jealous wife has had enough and I don't have the time to spend in my Porsche mistress. There is some fender damage on the left front when I ran over a board and shredded and tire which caused me to tap the center divider. Two of the Fuchs are scratched. Other than the fender and rough motor this is a very nice 914 that I have spent decades cherishing. It is time to find someone that can give this Porsche the attention it needs. I am sure there will be lots of questions and I am always happy to talk Porsche so please send me a question and I will post it on the listing to hopefully answer other peoples questions. No trades please, cash only and 3000K is the least I will take period. This is a great car and deal. Good luck bidding. On Aug-16-14 at 10:55:17 PDT, seller added the following information:
