Vehicle Detail
Hello, Up for auction is one 1955 Ford Victoria. I have been restoring this car for around 3 years. Well, having it restored. I did some mechanical, brake work, etc. the rest I had someone else do the work. The car had the molding around the front grill, the headlights, and the taillights done when I bought it. The original gas tank was filled by pulling down the license plate, it now is filled from inside the trunk, the trunk opens with a push of a button under the dash. I have spent a fortune so far, and I am tired of it. The last few things I was doing was I bought all new side glass and a billet tilt steering column. The guys that installed the column didn't finish it and I can't get them to come back. It's not exactly right. I mean it steers the car but it's not 100%. the guy doing the windows won't show, up either so the drivers side window is not in, and the passenger side isn't finished. the two rear quarter windows are done and work great. The paint and body work was done 2 years ago, it looks great, there are a couple chips here and there now. I replaced all the windshield rubbers, I had all the trim sanded down and buffed out, I put a new gas tank, gas line, intake and carburetor on. It has new brakes front and rear, new wheel cylinders, calipers, new brake lines. New headliner. Front bumper is boltless and expensive, I replaced all the front end parts, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. Interior was done 2 years ago as well. I have all the parts plus some extras. The engine is a 302, transmission is a C4. It runs excellent, I think it rides a little rough but I'm used to driving my Platinum F150 so it's probably pretty good for the year. I put new 17" wheels and tires on it that have about 100 miles on them. I have literally spent a fortune on the car and have lost interest in it. It is 95% complete. My starting price is well under half of what I have in it. The car is for sale locally I reserve to end the auction at any time.however if there is a bid on this auction I will let it run out and sell it to the high bidder. NO RESERVE!! A good old honest high bidder takes it auction!! Pretty rare on here anymore. I have a clear Virginia title, the 1955 Virginia license plates are registered to it and I will give them to the winner as well. Car can't leave until funds are clear. Anybody that want's to see it you are welcome to come by, it's a beauty and doesn't need much more, I'm worn out of it, I think I'm going to buy a boat and drift away. Thanks, Jerry The car does have disc brake front end. It does have new carpet as well as the floor was lined with heat shield. The body of the car is in excellent condition, no rust in floor boards, virtually no fill anywhere, very straight body. The clock is a NOS windup clock that I paid $300 for, I have the box for it as well. The left vent window that is installed was an NOS one that I bought as well, I still have the original box it came in as well. It goes on and on. On Aug-11-14 at 13:33:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, I do have the door panels, they were made when the rest of the interior was redone. They are in the trunk of the car. The trunk is full of parts, extras that I bought, New LED taillights, another window regulator for the passenger side, window winders, two original steering columns, a few new pieces like the V8 emblem, the crest emblem for the trunk, etc. I have a new set of door rubbers, we took the first set back off when it seemed they weren't on right. The MSD ignition is new as well. Thanks,Jerry On Aug-12-14 at 06:14:00 PDT, seller added the following information: What I know of that the car needs; The steering column is not installed correctly. it does steer the car just fine, however the outer casing of the column moves a little sometimes, it's not supposed to. The adaptor from the column to the steering wheel needs a small spacer or something, it rubs the column slightly sometimes. The horn wiring is not done. The pin that holds the shift lever to the column cannot be found I have a pin holding it on but it is not the right one.It is not easy to steer the car, it does not have power steering and I believe it needs a larger steering wheel the size of the original instead of the small one that is on it. I don't have much problem with it but I have a good grip they say. the front windows need to be installed, the right front vent window needs installed as well. The light in the headliner does not work, some of the dash lights do not work. The front turn signal lights are LED and will not blink. I have a brand new set of LED taillights that wouldn't blink either so I put the bulbs back in. I believe I don't have the right flasher. One headlight only works on low or high I can't remember. I have not hooked up the heater. I think it may need a universal joint as it clunks sometimes when the transmission downshifts. Don't buy it if you think you can stick the door panels on it and drive it to the next car show. However, if you are a decent mechanic this is a steal. I believe there's less than $1000 worth of work to be done. It's very close in my opinion. Thanks for all the interest, I hope this answers all the questions.
