Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1975 Chevy Corvette Stingray to help fund another project I have. This has been a great cruising car for us, but I have another Corvette I'd like to finish so I need this one sold. This one is a very low mileage mid-seventies C3; they are not extinct yet, but they are becoming harder to find. I consider mine to be in above average condition, I wouldn't call it excellent but it's definitely better than daily-driver condition. The car has only had about 930 miles put on it since Sep-2013, it mainly just sits on storage lift in a climate controlled garage with an indoor car cover on it. I've been around and owned several of these late C3 Stingrays throughout the years, I'd say this is a very strong $14-$16K car in the retail market. Private party prices are not near as high, but I feel like my price is well within what the car should bring at auction or private party sale. Below are details of the car: Exterior Finish:Paint is in really good shape; it's nice and smooth, no orange peel, no checking/cracking. It has a really sharp deep gloss to it. There are a couple of spots that have been touched up - the front right bumper corner, and a spot about 3 inches above the left headlight. I don't see any other major flaws or issues with the paintBody and door panel fitment is good, door lines look good (no sagging), doors open and close correctly (no doorpin dragging), front clip looks good, tops fit nice and snugHeadlights go up and down, I haven't pressure-tested the vacuum lines because I don't see any problems, everything seems to be in good shapeFront tires seem a little worn to me, I have no idea how old they are or how many miles are on themRims are Crager rims, often referred to as Saw-Blades - the chrome finish looks nice, I see a couple of rust spots on each rim, but overall look pretty good. I suspect the buyer will probably change out the rims & tires to what they like, so I'm not going to replace themGlass is all in great shape, windshield is nice and smooth - no pitting or chips/cracksChrome trim around the t-tops is in great shape, still has a nice smooth finish, nothing needs to be replacedInterior Finish:The interior has either been refinished or has been very well taken care of. Seats do not have any rips/tears, dash pad is in great shape, center cluster looks great, center console, side panels, and shift console look greatDoor panels show barely any wear, trim is nice and tight, handles (inside & outside) work correctly, locks work, key locks workPower windows work - I just had the driver-side power window motor replaced, it was very slow so I just had it changed out with a new oneTach & Speedo cluster looks good, tilt steering works correctly, horn does not work (not sure why, never cared about it)Carpet looks nearly perfect, I wouldn't be surprised if it's new - no tears, runs, stains. Heel pad and high-beam pad look great. Rear cargo lining looks great, that is one small spot that I found in the cargo area that has a flat spot in the carpet - it's about the circumference of a coffee cupAll of the interior lights work, key buzzer works, even the power antenna worksEngine & Mechanical:Let me just say - I am not a professional mechanic, I pay a long-time professional who owns his own shop to do mechanical work when needed. I do ask him lots of questions, which is probably why he charges me so much. Everything I know about the engine is based on what I've seen or been told. If you have detailed questions, please send them to me and I will try to get you an answer. The engine block in the car is not the original, I had the oil pan removed to check internal condition, and I physically saw that this engine is a 4-bolt main - the original L-48 would have been a 2-boltThe cam that is installed is a bit more aggressive, has a nice lope sound and seems to have more power than most of the other C3's I've drivenIntake manifold has been upgraded to an EdelbrockCarburetor has been upgraded to an Edelbrock (4-bbl)Starter has been replacedAlternator has been replaced - went with the chrome finish Alternator to matchRadiator has been upgraded to a larger aluminum radiatorExhaust manifolds have been upgraded to polished headersFront wheel bearings have been redoneRear wheel bearings have been completely redone - the entire driver-side trailing arm assembly has been replacedAll 4 brake discs look great, pads have plenty of meat on them, brakes feel very solidBattery has been recently replaced I require a small deposit of $500.00 to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of purchase, no exceptions unless discussed and approved first. Final payment is due within three (3) calendar days of purchase, no exceptions unless discussed and approved first. If final payment is not made within three calendar days, then the deposit becomes my property and I retain the rights to re-list the car or sell the car at will. I do not accept Paypal, credit cards, credit terms, or IOU's for full payment. Final payment must be cash, Certified bank check, or bank wire ACH. If you're going to pay with a Certified bank check I need the bank information prior to pick-up so I can call and verify authenticity. Car is being sold AS-IS; there are no warranties or guarantees expressed, implied, or otherwise. This is a private party sale which means if you buy it, you own it - there are no refunds, partial refunds, reimbursements or whatever else a scammer can think of. Please make sure you can pay the amount you offer - this means checking with your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, mom, dad, your brother-in-law's cousin who knows everything about everything - whomever - do it first. I'm not interested in sorry excuses from folks who ruin it for everyone else. By bidding, and/or making an offer, and/or purchasing the car you are agreeing to the terms above.
