Vehicle Detail
Relisting my wife's 2000 Jaguar XJR in auction format. Not trying to give it away but would like to sell it for a reasonable offer. We bought it used about 8 years ago with around 45K miles on it. We are the third owner. Manufactured 05/00 as a 2000 model year. The first Owner was the Owner of the Jag Dealer in Atlanta, GA and it was his demo until sold in 2001. It went to NY after the first legitimate owner traded it in. I got it from a luxury car dealer in Laurel, MD who purchased it at the Eastern Region Auction as a low mileage 5 year old car. This Jag was my wife's kid hauler to and from school, the mall, the library, and used for grocery runs, the occasional family trip because of the DVD player, and anything else you can think a non-working woman would use it for until November 2012. She then went back to work after a 14 year sabbatical and it has been a daily commuter car for about 65 miles round trip since then. Still in use today so miles could be slightly higher than the current 128702 when the new owner picks it up. Car has rarely given us trouble but has also been meticulously Jaguar dealer maintained since we bought it. We have done every routine maintenance and repair the Jag Dealer requested including replacing the timing chains and tensioners with the new generation versions eliminating the common problem of broken tensioners. Recently replaced both primary and secondary fuel pumps, rear main seal, bearings, coolant hoses, water pump, and pretty much anything else the 25+ Year veteran Jaguar mechanic told us to do. I own two other Jags as well as this one and we are firm believers that although the dealer may be slightly higher priced per labor hour, they know what they are doing. I have a binder full of receipts for work done on the car since I have owned it and I just had the most recent oil and filter change completed and replaced some cooling hoses, the water pump, and flushed the coolant system at the same time. The car runs great with no outstanding known immediate issues to address and, per the mechanic, should pass the stringent MD State Inspection with no concerns. The car is turn key as is and includes two keys with remotes, the owners manual, etc. etc. The headliner has begun to sag in the rear and the power antenna no longer works so you have to push it down and pull it up for car washes. It was after-market for the originally installed 10-disc Rosen DVD player which still works great. I still have both remotes for the DVD player and one wireless headphone set. Movies play on the headphones or through the stereo. As with all the nickel lined cylinder jags, you will burn a little oil between oil changes but the mechanic tells me this is totally normal. BG products added with every oil and fluid change per the mechanic's recommendation. I just had the car professionally detailed last month and it still looks great. Tires are not that old (Michelin Pilot A/S) and are the second set we have put on in 80K miles. The car has after-market E-Line drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads all around still in great shape. Better than factory rotors and pads in my opinion. Full size matching spare on the Asteroid Rim with original tire. Battery was replaced. A/C still blows ice cold. Heated seats all work fine and heat is hot. My wife told me she is not sure the 6-disc CD changer is working properly but it could just be her discs are dirty. It is a really great car and we will miss it but our kids are in their teens now and my wife needs to upgrade to an SUV or minivan. The dealer offered us a decent price for the car in trade planning on retailing it for $9995 or more. We are just trying to get a few dollars more than what they offered if we can. I have set the reserve price reasonably in the hopes of someomne coming out and making an offer if local. If not, call me and we can discuss adding a Buy it Now option to the listing. The car really is ready to go and you will be hard pressed to find another one in as nice condition and as well maintained for the year and mileage. The supercharger is awesome and the car really does perform like a sports car when you want it to. Please contact me at 301.633.8116 with questions or concerns or to schedule a time to come and see it in person. Although the car is as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied, I doubt you will be disappointed. $250 non-refundable deposit to cover all expenses. Balance in cash on pickup. Thanks and I hope you wind up the future owner of this awesome car. On Aug-07-14 at 11:10:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Several questions have come in about the dent in the driver and passenger door from the golf cart incident and have asked for more pictures. I was just trying to give full disclosure but may have made folks think this was a more serious dent than it really is. It's more like creases in the door skin from where the oversized off road golf cart tire was rubbed up against the car at low speed. The dent(s) is/are barely visible unless in direct sunlight or low light conditions and even then you have to be close to the car to even tell. I cannot seem to add any additional photos to the listing but you can honestly hardly tell there is a dent unless you are standing pretty much next to the car and it is truly minimal. It was honestly hardly worth mentioning. If you are really concerned, have a look for yourself in person but you really have a hard time seeing the dents. On Aug-08-14 at 13:09:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Much to my dismay, I noticed I never set a reserve on the car so I guess it is selling to the highest bidder. I am not ending the listing this late in the game. Bid high and bid often because you will be hard pressed to find a car in as nice of condition as this one is and you could potentially steal the car at the price it could sell for. This is officially a no reserve auction and the high bidder will win. You will not be disappointed. I have worked with several shipping companies so I am happy to get you in touch with one and assist with meeting the shipper and loading the car but all shipping is the buyer's expense. Please contact me with any questions or concerns at 301.633.8116. Thanks and Good Luck!
