1929 Mercedes Gazelle Convertible, 1979 Replica factory built by Gazelle (not a kit) with 12,400 miles. Originally had a Ford drivetrain, it now has a professionally installed front mounted 1990 Nissan 240sx fuel injected 2.4 overhead cam engine and a 5 speed transmission, under 30k on drivetrain, new heavy duty clutch. Over $5000 invested in motor, tranny and installation. Rarely driven and garage kept. Many new parts including heavy duty clutch, brakes gone through, suspension, exhaust, alternator and radiator. Before buying this one I test drove several Gazelle Replicas with both the VW and Ford motors and this one leaves them in the dust, probably the fastest Gazelle replica out there. The fuel injected Nissan engine starts with the turn of a key even after sitting for months and runs smooth and quiet, no leaks or noises from anywhere. Some guages need to be hooked up (gas, temp, oil) and tires will need to be replaced soon. Full canvas top, door canvas and side windows as well as the top down, quick zip up cover, nice stereo. Wood grain dash board and back seat, complete, interior complete, padding faded and seats need TLC. Rare, performance oriented Gazelle. All lights work as well as horn and wipers.
