The De Ville was redesigned for 1965 but rode on the same 129.5-inch wheelbase, big and smooth!. Tailfins were canted slightly downward, and sharp, distinct body lines replaced the rounded look making the 65 Caddy two door DeVille a very desirable collector car!. Also new were a straight rear bumper and vertical lamp clusters all newly designed. The headlight pairs switched from horizontal to vertical, thus permitting a wider grille which was much more appealing to enthusiasts. Curved frameless side windows appeared which is likely the most distinctive feature of the 65 model year, the hardtop is beautifully designed! New standard luxury features included lamps for luggage, glove and rear passenger compartments and front and rear safety belts.
