Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1984 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible that was donated to the AACA Museum in 2011 and has been in the collection since. This is a 1984 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible that is in good condition. These convertibles are starting to catch the notice of collectors- for a long time it appeared that convertible had gone the way of the dinosaurs, but then Chrysler introduced the LeBaron convertible to much celebration! Buy now before the prices start to climb. The car looks to be in original condition inside and was repainted its original black color sometime prior to being donated to the museum. The black paint is in fair condition and still retains its shine but has some minor checking on the tops of the fenders, header panel, and quarter panels and some dirt and orange peel throughout the vehicle. There are a few small dings on the sides and a repair on the front bumper on the drivers corner (see picture). The aluminum rims are in good shape and are close to the factory rims but are made by American Racing and the tires are about 80%. The underneath is also very solid with no rust issues. The vinyl interior is in good condition without any major defects. The carpeting is nice but there is a spot inside the trunk where someone had spilled some paint (see picture). The car is equipped with a power convertible top that works as it should without any trouble and the top is also in very nice condition. The interior door panels are also nice with some minor wear and the dash board is nice with all the gauges appearing to work correctly. The door windows are manual and the rear are power. The 2.2 liter Chrysler engine runs great and starts right up and runs quietly. The A/C is not working and the belt is off due to a locked A/C compressor prior to being donated to the museum. Being that the car was donated for display and not driven it is not something that the museum would have repaired. The car does run good but has not been driven any distance just on museum property. The car drives and stops fine but due to being in a collection that is not driven on a regular basis this vehicle SHOULD be gone over prior to any use to ensure that it is safe for the road. Currently it does NOT have a recent safety inspection. A careful recommissioning and inspection of this car is highly encouraged before driving it on the road. *************PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE MUSEUM WILL HOLD THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PAYMENT IS CLEARED THRU THAT FINANCIAL INSTUTION AND THIS COULD TAKE UP TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS********
