Vehicle Detail
For sale is a rare 1962 Buick Invicta Convertible. This collectible is in good shape overall and would make a great project car, as the upside for a rare find like this is incredible. I have seen several restored convertibles from this year bring $25,000 to $30,000. The average value for the condition and year for this car is between $9,000 and $14,000(as is) from everything I have read in the valuation guides. I bought it a few years ago from my uncle, who had started the restoration process, but didn't get very far. He ended up moving to California and the car sat in my grandparent's garage in Iowa for 5-7 years before I saw it and asked to buy it. At this point I don't have the resources, knowledge, or time to restore it myself, so I need to sell it. This vehicle has many original features, and much of the car is in very good condition. It has the original 401 Nailhead engine, which was tuned up last year and does run. I also had both exhaust manifolds replaced at that time, and had the carburetor rebuilt and a choke put on. Currently, the rear driver's side braking components are not working. I was told that it needed a new master cylinder and brake booster, but I cannot confirm and will not be getting this repaired prior to selling. The AC connections seem to be there for the most part, although it isn't hooked up and probably hasn't seen Freon for years. The heater box is missing as well. On the exterior, the body is in good shape on the upper section with almost no rust. The lower section of both doors and the back fender areas have some bondo work, but it isn't extensive. The underside has many areas that are in good shape and some that will need work as there is some rust. Both mounts in the trunk are rusted through and will need replaced. The canvas convertible top was replaced several years back and is in great shape and the electric motor for it works as well. The gauges on the dash are in working order, and the interior of the car is in very good shape and is all original except for the carpet. Almost all of the original ornamental trim and emblems, etc. are intact and in very good shape. If you need more pictures of any area of the car, please send a message and I will get them to you immediately. You are responsible to come pick up or arrange shipping if you are the winning bidder once payment has cleared. A $200 down payment will be due within 48 hours of auction close, with the remainder due upon pickup. Thanks for looking and good luck.
