Vehicle Detail

1951 Ford F1 with 1957 Chevy 283 Powerpack This truck started out life as a red Atlanta GA built V8 half ton 5 star extra cab pickup. At some point in time it was been converted to 12 VDC, repainted red, interior painted black, flathead pulled and replaced with a 283 and GM 3 speed manual transmission. Sometime after that it was parked and has remained parked for years. The engine carries casting number 3731548 and the production code is “FI0I0FC”; I decode this as 1957 Chevy 283 Powerpack (220 HP) built at Flint on Oct 10 and originally hooked to a powerglide. I guess this has the special bushing to let the manual trans main drive gear engage. Note triangle over rectangle on heads, squarebore Carter carb, rams horns manifolds, etc. It is fitted to the truck with a Hurst adapter to use the Ford donut mounts on the frame in the original location. Perfect engine for your Chevy restoration, other rat rod, or old school Ford hot-rod going for the late 50s/early 60s look. The truck is soft around all edges with obvious rust in fenders, floor, bed, hood, running boards, doors, etc., is missing parts, and has a few left over “accessory” holes here and there for various antennas, hood ornaments, and etc. Frame appears solid and the stainless around the windshield is nice. I do have the two kick panels for the doors. If you want to make a fenderless rat rod this would be a good foundation because the cab and bed have a pretty good patina look to them. Engine is stuck but has good looking oil and still had anti-freeze when I pulled the heater out. Hasn’t been turned over in so long the fan belt rotted out the pulleys from moisture. The rear brakes were stuck so I had to torch the drums off; I saved all the other hardware. The truck now rolls freely and steers; tires hold air. I can’t ship it but I can help load it on your trailer. $100 deposit due via Paypal within 3 days of auction end. Balance due in cash at time of pickup. Do not pay for whole truck via Papal. I can hold it for up to three weeks after auction ends. No international bidders. No bids with less than 10 feedback without contacting me first. Modest reserve in line with what similar trucks have been selling for. Truck is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. No warranties or any other guarantee. There is no title; this will be sold on a bill of sale only. Georgia does not title vehicles older than 1986. Thanks for looking, Jason; four 7 eight two three 3 three 2 nine 2.On Jul-03-14 at 18:36:18 PDT, seller added the following information: For those wanting to "rat" it out I acquired a few parts to head off in that direction myself. I have a rough 1940 Ford "tonner" truck hood, a 1940 Merc car grill, 1940 Merc car grille guard (like a 40 Ford car but with a mercury emblem over the Ford script), 4 1940 Merc hubcaps, and a pair of 1936 Ford car headlights. I will make these available to the winning bidder at time of truck pickup for an additional $200 if interested.
