I purchased this VW in Phoenix AZ from a retired couple who had a bee keeper business and had owned the car since 1979. They were the second owners and purchased the car from friends. The car was used for their family until 1988. The engine and transmission were rebuilt as they were planning on restoring the car and has 300 - 500 miles on it since the rebuild. I have no paperwork but feel this family was completely honest with me. The car has been parked since and will need restoration. I have tried starting but there seems to be an issue with getting power from the ignition to the starter. This car seems to be very solid in all other aspects. I'm not a VW expert by any means and have never owned one before so I may not be able to answer all questions. I do know the motor is a 1600 cc single port. Thanks for looking.
