You are bidding on a 1962 Chevy Suburban. It's an old Fire Truck, & I'm the 2nd owner. It had 61,000 original miles on it when I got it from our local fire dept. over a dozen years ago. It has some rust, mostly down low & I tried to picture the worst of it. The exterior shell has been painted once, but the firewall still has the Factory crayon notes. The 235 6 cyl runs good, the 4 spd tranny shifts good, the truck drives straight, it has good brakes that always stopped straight etc. Running gear is good, Except, the hydraulics leaked down over the past winter. I have the master cylinder topped off now, & everything is functioning today, but I haven't investigated or fixed the leak. All of the electrical system works fine except for the gas gauge. I believe the problem is at the sending unit. It has been converted to an alternator & the belt runs crooked but I've never had any belt or charging issues & the 7 year old battery functions fine. Our old ambulance driver said it would run 87 mph wide open with Him, an EMT & a patient, the 20 miles to Billings, but I don't run it much over 60 much as it's low geared & sounds pretty 'busy'. It needs a Seat Cover, as Pictured. Please ask Questions, I can send more Pictures, etc. If you want the old stainless steel gurney or the original wheels, I have them stored.
