Vehicle Detail

1948 Nash Ambassador Located in Annapolis, MD this very original condition Nash runs and drives and is available during this NO RESERVE auction. Nash was ordered by the Federal government, to suspended passenger car production during World War II (1942-1945). When production was resumed after the war, the Eights were no longer part of the program. The 1946 Ambassador Six was now the top of the Nash line. The Nash Ambassador was produced from 1932 through 1957. When Nash merged with Hudson Motors in 1954, the Ambassador name was continued, though it was now known as the AMC Ambassador. The name persisted until 1974. The Ambassador was Nash's top-of-the-line offering when first introduced. These vehicles were outfitted with fine upholstery and luxury amenities. The base price was set at $2,090 in 1948. This particular Nash was rescued from an estate collection. Not being started or driven for a decade. It has been freshened up to run up and down your neighborhood street but only stops with the e-brake. Below you will see the good and not so good. - The not so good - -There is some surface rust on the floor pans and frame. No big holes - The is a small section in the trunk floor and rocker which does have some holes but could easily be removed and replaced. Nothing structural we can see. - The car needs restored OR go through it to make it more road worthy and drive it as is. - Hood cable is missing but the hood opens. - The fuel tank either needs dropped and cleaned or replaced. We ran it up and down the road utilizing a portable boat fuel tank. - The radio did not make sound but does light up The pretty good stuff - - This is a very original completed very SOLID car given its age - 100% complete running driving car except as noted. Needs brake work - All glass intact. - The car starts up easily, sounds like a finely tuned sewing machine, shifts through all of the gears nice and smooth. Please see the pictures on photobucket as they tell the story. Link to be added. Please see my Sellers feedback and understand you have nor worries.
