Vehicle Detail
Very-Rare 1957 GMC V8 Napco 4X4 with Deluxe Trim and Big-Window Cab This truck is equipped with 1/2 ton Napco axles, but was originally equipped with 3/4 ton axles. Previous owner converted it to 1/2 ton in order to make it more highway-friendly. I do have the correct original 3/4 ton Napco Axles and they are available for purchase to the winner or buyer at additional cost which we can discuss if you contact me. This truck was restored in the early 90's to show condition, but it is in need of a cosmetic makeover. It was originally Harmony Blue & White. The paint is chipped and scratched, Body is very straight. Front clip, doors and bed are very solid, but the cab will need some typical rust repair to the usual areas, it will need some floor repair work to the toe-board area. I can supply the needed repair panels. Still has its original divorced Napco Transfer Case. This is an original V8 truck, but the Pontiac V8 has been swapped for a more reliable 327 with Edelbrock aluminum intake and valve covers and a Holley 4-barrel carb. The truck runs, drives and stops very well. It is currently licensed with good tags and has recently made several long trips hauling loads from Seattle to Portland with absolutely no problems or issues. Truck runs cool and drives very well. Goes down the highway at 60 with no problem. It has American Racing Aluminum wheels and 33x12.50 Yokohamas with very good tread, but I do have original 16-inch steel wheels for the current 1/2 ton axles as well as original hubcaps that are available if you want to contact me. It only has the Napco emblem on the driver's side, It was that way when I got it, I believe you can get one for the passengers side through the aftermarket. All lights gauges, horn, wipers, heater, defroster etc.. work very well. This is not a project truck. It is a truck that you can get in, start up (it always starts right up, even when its cold) and drive wherever you want. The radiator has been re-cored and looks like new. Engine compartment needs to be detailed. It has dual exhaust that is not loud, but has a very nice sound to it. All of the 4-Wheel Drive components work well. The transmission shifts smooth and all gears work well. It has a cracked passengers side window and drivers side vent window, but it comes with the correct, good replacement glass. The windows roll up and down smooth and easy. Doors open and close very nice without having to be slammed. Seat is in very good condition but the carpet is worn. Please feel free to contact me before placing a bid on this truck if you have any questions at all regarding condition. I will give you a more-detailed, honest, accurate description. Also keep in mind that I have over 40 "55-59" Chevy and GMC trucks. If there are other parts that you want with this truck, we can make arrangements to have those parts included with the purchase and shipped with it. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but do keep in mind that you can drive this truck home if you want. I will pick the buyer up at Portland International Airport at no additional cost.
