> 1979 Toyota FJ40!!! Here is a beautiful restored 1979 Toyota FJ40 that is in excellent condition and is a great driving truck!!! This FJ40 was restored by Toyota Land Cruiser Specialist Cool Cruisers in Texas in the early 2000s. This FJ was the subject of a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration and it looks absolutely gorgeous and drives excellent. At the time of restoration the car received a gorgeous bare metal paint job on a beautiful straight rust free body, this is a very solid truck that was restored properly. The body on this Fj is absolutely laser straight. This is one of the nicest done FJ40s I have seen in years. The doors open and shut like a brand new car! This is a nice original unmolested FJ. This car retains its original 2F engine that was completely rebuilt, original steering wheel, and original wheels!! The cars underside is original and in nice condition. These cars are great cars to drive and enjoy either daily or just for fun on the weekends. This is one of the most desirable years of FJ40s due to the 2F engine, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering and this truck even has ICE Cold A/C!!! This is a great truck for all seasons and can be driven and enjoyed daily. This truck has all the modern conveniences of a modern vehicle but with an absolutely iconic appearance. Click to enlarge Exterior: This beautiful FJ40 was treated to a high quality paint job and as you can see from the photos, it looks gorgeous. This was a very high quality restoration that emulated the factory paint finishes. The body on the car is laser straight and free of waves but does retain the proper marks over the rear wheel arches and shows that the truck is not full of bondo. All of the doors, hood and deck lid all line up beautifully. When looking inside the trunk area and looking at the nose of the car, it appears to be accident free!!! The car was repainted in the early 2000s and the paint job is holding up very well for its age. The entire truck was completely disassembled and was taken down to bare metal. The factory green paint is one of the best colors for these trucks and really gives it that period look. All of the exterior lights are in excellent working order. The wheels are excellent and refinished to a high standard as well and they are wrapped in brand new tires!! Overall the exterior of the car is in excellent condition and showing very little signs of wear! Click to enlarge Interior: The interior of this FJ is in great condition and a comfortable place to be. The interior was completely reupholstered and is holding up extremely well. It retains a factory fresh appearance retaining and even retains the correct steering wheel. The dash looks great with its great looking gauge cluster with full working gauges. All of the knobs, controls and gauges are in working order. The seats are free of rips, stains, tears and are in nice shape. The seats are very comfortable and supportive as the seats were rebuilt with all new foam at the time of restoration. All of the gauges and lights work. The dash is free of cracks etc... The fact that this car has working cold A/C means you can use this car year round!!! The side facing jump seats are great and if you have kids... they will absolutely love them!!! Overall, I would say that the interior is in very nice shape!!! Click to enlarge Engine: The 4.2 liter 2F straight 6 engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration and starts up and runs like a top!!! The engine fires right up and runs excellent. I have had this car on the freeway many times and it keeps up with modern traffic with no problem. The transmission shifts perfectly through all of the gears with ease and the 4 wheel drive works perfectly. The car rides, steers and stops GREAT! The car tracks beautifully down the road and the power front disc brakes are strong and stop this car with ease. This really is a great driving Land Cruiser that can be driven daily or just for fun on the weekends. Lots of dollars were spent on the mechanical restoration and one drive down the road and you can tell it was done right. The car has been driven since its restoration and all of the "bugs" have been worked out. This is an extremely reliable vehicle. The car is great fun to drive. Everything works, from the windshield wipers, and all of the lights! These are great cars because they are very reliable and any part you might need is readily available and very inexpensive. This car however, shouldn't need anything for sometime! This car is ready to enjoy!
