Vehicle Detail
If you're reading this you're probably familiar with these cars and know one like this doesn't pop up on eBay too often. 1964 Lincoln Continental hardtop with 67,724 ORIGINAL miles on it. Yes, that's correct- this is true original mileage. And no, the odometer hasn't rolled over 100k. I purchased the car about 4 years ago from a man who got it at an estate sale. To our knowledge, the owner passed away in the early 70s and then the car was kept in a garage until early 2000. The condition of the car reflects this, as the exterior and interior is all factory original. With any car that's sit for some time, I've put over $6k in repairs to the engine since then. New carb, fuel pump and a few other things I can list. Power everything- steering, doors, locks, seats, antenna, etc. As is, the car has a leak in the power steering pump which needs to be fixed. This just happened recently. There is also a shift linkage issue (which is fairly common as I understand with this model) which causes the column shifter to wiggle a little bit when going from P/N/D/R. It's not a major issue as I understand, but want to disclose it. The 2 rear windows do not go down, nor the passenger port window. From what I am told this is most likely due to built up grease getting on the motors which would just need to be cleaned. Worst case the window motors would need to be replaced which is fairly inexpensive. Also at some point the muffler on the car was replaced with a single pipe; so it does not have a dual pipe. While the AC turns on, it doesn't get very cold so I'm guessing it needs a new compressor if you want AC. The car still has it's original paint and has not been resprayed. The paint is not perfect, but still relatively in tact as you can tell from the pictures. There's a few inch wide portion on the rear passenger door where it's starting to flake. I have a pint of matching factory paint I'll include with the sale. Cosmetically, there is a ding on the driver's side front fender which you can see in the picture and another small dent on the rear passenger fender; but no major body work needed. There are some rust spots which have started to show on some spots of the exterior (however to my own admission I haven't had the car detailed in a while). From what I can tell the undercarriage is in decent condition. I tried to show this in the picture, but from what I see there are no major issues. Not bad for the original frame. All of the chrome is overall in great condition, if not mostly perfect. There is little to no oxidation on any of the chrome trim pieces inside or outside. Anyone restoring these cars knows one of the most costly parts is restoring the chrome. There is a ~2cm ding on the chrome trim piece that goes above the windshield. I purchased a new piece I did not install yet and will include with the sale as well. The interior is is pretty good condition for being all original. As you can see in the pictures there is some wear on the leather parts of the bottom of the drivers seats and the center of the rear seat. Everything else (backs, tops and rears or seats) is in excellent condition and almost looks new. The perforated leather roof is in perfect condition and carpet is in decent condition as well. I have an original vintage 1964 New York (World's Fair) plate I will include if selling to a buyer in NY, as it can be used legally on the car if registered in NYS as a historic vehicle. I also have 1964 NYS replica inspection stickers for the windshield. Original factory owners manual included that came with the car, still in it's original pouch. I also have a copy of an ad for this exact vehicle (same color combo) from a magazine from 1964 which is pretty cool I'll include. There's on set of original keys (for doors and ignition). I'm not sure if the tires are the same ones that came with the vehicle in '64 (they do have original wheels on them), but they are bias plys with decent tread left. New battery with a quick battery disconnect which I recommend using when not driving. This is not a show car, but not a major restoration project either. I've tried to disclose as much as I know to prospective buyers, but car is still being sold as is. For someone looking for this model, you'll be hard pressed to find another that's in this type of factory condition at this price. I'm selling because I simply don't have the time for it anymore. I've only put about 100 miles on it since I purchased it. With what I paid for it and the work I've put in, I hope to see it go to a good owner who will enjoy it as much as I have. Car is located in Upstate, NY. If you are purchasing out of state, you are responsible for making arrangements to pick up and transport at your expense. I am open to selling it internationally, but you would also be responsible for handling all logistics and related expenses. Please contact me prior to bidding if you are located outside of the US. I didn't list the VIN on here, but message me and I'd be glad to send it. With cars this age, there is no title. I have a NYS DMV Retail Certificate of Sale and a NYS Registration (now expired) which gets signed over to the buyer to transfer ownership. I've had some messages regarding title, and this is what I received when I purchased the car and all I needed to register it and get insurance on it. I will require payment in full within 72 hours of auction close, regardless of when you plan to pick up the car (although I'm flexible on arrangements to pick it up once paid for). I would recommend getting a transporter it as it should not be driven with the power steering leak. Car is located in Upstate, NY. I'd be glad to show it this weekend to serious buyers only. I accept cash in person, bank wire, or certified bank check. No personal checks please. Since I am new to eBay and have 0 feedback, please don't hesitate to message me with any further questions; as I'd be glad to address them. If you have 0 or negative feedback, please contact be prior to bidding.
