Vehicle Detail
1963 Willys Jeep CJ5. First owner 1963 to 1966. Second owner 1966 to 2014. The guy I bought it from purchased it upon his return from the military in 1966. He used it as his daily driver from 1966 to into the eighties. Then he parked it in his garage until I stumbled upon it earlier this year. VIN is 57548144614. I acquired this Willys earlier this year with all the usual aspirations of restoring it etc. Circumstances dictate that those dreams are now fading. This Jeep is an actual Willys...see pics (copy) of old PA title. Previous PA title lists it as a Willys TK which I assume means truck. It fires right up, Drives fine and stops OK. The engine, trans and rear sound just fine. The three speed trans and the low and high range four wheel drive unit seems to work great. Heck there's hardly a drop of any fluid under the Jeep as she sits in my driveway! The engine doesn't even smoke. Most of the lights work. The vacuum wipers still work also. Even the cig lighter still works. The horn is not working. The top is very functional. Most of the windows in the top have been replaced with sheets of PlexiGlass. Still, not too shabby for a Jeep this old. The tires hold air just fine but they are dry rotted some. The side mounted spare is actually an old bias ply 8.15 X 15 BF Goodrich tire that is in really great condition. I have done my best to take pics of the underside of this Jeep because I assume most of you are very concerned about undercarriage rust. Rest assured that even though the previous owner did do some patching the Jeep is in my opinion 80% solid underneath. THE FRAME IS S O L I D . The front end is equipped with WARN Lockout hubs which I have to assume were added somewhere along the way to make this little beast more drive-able on dry roads. I want to emphasize that I did NOT spray the underside of this Jeep with undercoating like some would do. (It is amazing how much that goop can hide.) What you see is what you get. My feedback rating is 100%. I really, really try to make sure that the winnig bidder is satisfied so please please please ask questions before bidding. Please do not bid if you are not serious. Please call or write to me if you want to see and or drive this Jeep prior to bidding. This car is sold as is/where is. I would ask that you, the winning bidder, to give me a $500.00 deposit via Pay Pal at the end of the auction and that you pay the balance in cash and pickup the Jeep within five days. Fair enough? I cannot do any shipping but I can at least help you by being there for your carrier and helping to load the Jeep if necessary. But please keep in mind that for obvious reasons the Jeep doesn't leave my garage until all funds have been received by me free and clear. Also I reserve the right to end this auction at any time because the Jeep is for sale locally and about nine of my buddies keep telling me that they want to buy it from me but no one seems to have slapped any cash down in front of me (yet :) GOOD LUCK. I hope the winning bidder takes this classic and brings her back to where she was in '63...it won't take much to make it so. On May-17-14 at 16:23:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Saturday May 17 2014....I lowered the reserve price...someone is going to get a really nice restoreable Willys at a great price. I hate to see her go but it is what it is...
