Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2003 Ford F-250 Superduty. The truck is equipped with a 6.0L Powerstroke diesel, which runs excellently. Currently has 172,XXX miles, but it will go up as it is my daily driver. Oil was just changed- was changed every 5,000 miles with Rotella 15W40 and a Lucus oil additive for longevity. I purchased the truck with 139,000kmi in 2012. Since I've owned it, I've had the following upgrades done in order to improve the engine and take care of the notorious problems these engines came from the factory with. All work was performed by Rhinebeck Ford, in Rhinebeck, NY. - ARP Headstuds - OEM Head Gaskets - Liberator Performance EGR Cooler Delete Kit - (8) New Injectors - New high pressure oil pump + o-rings - Turbo Y pipe from Liberator Performance All this work was done within the last 20,000 miles at a cost of over $10,000. At 171,000 miles the truck also went in to Rhinebeck Ford Ford for some preemptive maintenance. Maintenance included 8 new glow plugs as well as the glow plug harness, a new fuel injection control module, new starter new alternator, new coolant bottle, and two brand new batteries. Tires are also brand new, with less then 5,000 miles on them. As far as upgrades go, the truck was also equipped with the following modifications to make the truck more enjoyable to drive/use. - SCT Livewire Tuner - Bank's Ram Air Intake - Silverline 4" Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust (Yes, it rolls coal). - 05-07 Superduty Front End Conversion Kit - 05 Harley-Davidson Edition Headlights - Rhino-lined Truck Bed & Truck Lower Half (See Pictures) - Upgraded "Heavy Duty" Torque Converter/Transmission - Autometer Gauges (EGT/ Turbo PSI) - Recon "Smoked" Cab Lights - Taillight Covers/Rain Guards/ Bug Shield The truck runs and drives excellent, and starts just as well- even on cold mornings. The truck tracks straight down the road with no rattles/clunks/strange noises. The four wheel drive goes in and out with ease, with no problems at all. The transmission shifts flawlessly, and has no leaks or strange noises. The truck is equipped with the XLT option package, and has power windows/locks etc. The interior is cloth, and is in good condition- no rips or tears in the upholstery. I have spent close to $30,000 on this truck modifying it the correct way, in order to ensure the truck and engine's longevity. All of the upgrades were performed as recommended by the dealer, in order to fix the problems these motors came from the factory with- thus none of the modifications listed are hindering performance or reliability, but have increased both. The title of this truck is branded as a "Lemon" title. Lemon titles occur when the original owner of the vehicle is dissatisfied with it, and the manufacturer buys it back because of the issue. The original owner of the truck had a problem with the transmission when it was under 20,000 miles. It was bought back by Ford, and it was fixed according to warranty. 2003 was the first year of Ford's 5R100 Five Speed Transmission, and as with any new thing, it had some issues. Ford replaced the transmission with a new unit, and re-sold the truck. Thus, the "Lemon" title is nothing more than a previously bad transmission, which was replaced. I am the third owner of the truck, and neither myself or the owner before me had any problems with the transmission- which I upgraded recently anyways. The "Lemon" stamp on the title can probably be removed, I just never bothered because it never affected me. In addition, there is a little bit of rust starting on the back passenger quarter above the tire,(see pictures). Its not critical yet and can be fixed (I was quoted about $500 to fix). I have invested a ton of time and money in this truck building it the correct way, so that it would be reliable. My loss is your gain- I don't want to sell the truck, but rising fuel costs and a long commute are forcing me to sell it for a car. Possible trades entertained for a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but I'm really looking to get money out of the truck to buy a new car. I'm looking to get $11,500 or best offer for the truck.
