Vehicle Detail
Very Clean Mercedes Benz 300D Eurobody. eBay does not recognize the correct VIN which is actually WDB1231301A248122. We have owned this car for 6 years and hate to see it go, but we recently bought a 300TD wagon which is really what we need now. This Eurobody car has manual windows, manual sunroof and thin flush-mounted bumpers. You have to open and close the windows and sunroof with a crank and muscle power. The seats slide forward when you pull a handle and shift your weight. That's right, no electronics to foul up. It is a 5-cyclinder diesel, non-turbo, with only 196K original miles. Car runs strong and rides smooth. I personally would not hesitate to drive the car across the country and back. Just had tires put on it last summer and they have less than 7000 miles on them. This has been a very dependable Mercedes, and I have not had to do a lot of work on it outside of routine maintenance. I few years back I replaced the upper control arms and steering box. I also installed a larger fuel tank. The one that came in it was smaller than normal. There is a slow leak in the AC so the past few years I have had to add Freon. Last summer, the recharge of Freon only lasted about a month. The AC unit will definitely need some attention. The body on this car is very straight and solid. The car has been in a minor accident a few years back. Someone ran into the front passenger fender. There was no damage to the car aside from the fender. At that point, the whole car was repainted in the original color. That was years ago and the paint job is no longer perfect as this is a family car. The eurotag does not come with the car (we will be moving it to the wagon.) The interior looks very good for its age, a few cracks in the driver's seat and front center armrest. Also a couple of cracks in the dash. When I got the car, the back door windows are tinted. Over the years, my children have scratched up the tint with Samurai swords and Matchbox cars. But the glass is in excellent shape. You may want to remove the tinting. I've tried my best to describe the car fully, the good, bad and ugly. Please view all pictures as they are part of my description and feel free to ask any questions. I know from experience that this Mercedes is good for another 200K. The W123 Mercedes is built like a tank, and it is not a disposable car. After you reach 400K you can rebuild the engine if necessary and keep on driving. I am requiring a $500 Paypal deposit within 48 hours. The rest can be paid in cash upon pickup. If you are local, come take a look.
