Salvage

I am offering this bike as I am moving to a younger machine. The bike currently has 80,000 miles on it. I am still riding so the mileage is increasing. I purchased it as a retired California police Bike in 2009 with 50K miles. It came with and has a salvage title. I am not sure what the damage was that resulted in being labeled as salvage. When I purchased it the visible damage was scarring to the right side case savers (crash bars), right side fairing, and right side city bag lid - my assumption was it had been laid down on the rights side. Evaluation by the local BMW dealer did not identify any physical/mechanical damage other than the cosmetics. I replaced the right side fairing panel, removed the rear case savers, replaced the city lids with full size touring lids, and had it painted a stock 2004 color. Finish currently has some stone chips and scratches. - Service completed April 2014: o Valves adjusted, o Plugs and all fluids replaced, o Brake system had 2 years service (flushed & bled), o Engine compression checked. L-cylinder 10.894 BAR, R-cylinder 11.721, BMW Spec is 10 BAR.o Carbs synced - Mechanical:o Summer 2012§ Valve job§ Brake servo replaced with new unit ($2,200), 6,000 miles on new unit. Original unit never failed but the warning light began to come on intermittently.o The rear wheel bearing and/or pivot bearings will most likely need attention this season or next depending on miles put in it. - Electricalo Electronic Cruise Controlo Auxiliary fuse blocko Headlights have been converted to 35W HID (could be converted back) and after market-driving lights are also 35W HID.o 4 power outlets (2 on dash in addition to the 2 original equipment outlets on lower left side.o Heated handgrips.o LED strobe brake light.o Ambient thermometer with freeze warningo New Gel battery summer 2012 - Body/Cosmetics/Convenience:o Michelin Pilot road 3 tires (new 2012), approximately 50% tread remainingo 2-1” ball RAM Mounts (one on dash panel and one brake reservoir mounted)o Stock seat recently recovered with a leather skin,o Hard cases keyed to bike Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE o Givi mounting plate for a monokey top case.
