A High Horsepower, Twin Turbo, Low mileage, drop top Show Stopper! 1997 Ford Mustang Saleen Convertible - Rio Red S-281. # 97-0140 Only 23,600 Original and Professionally maintained miles! This car was built at Turbo Driven Concepts In Miami FL. Each component was carefully selected or hand fabricated. The goal was to have a reliable and fun to drive car that had the ability to turn the power up to well over 1000HP if the need ever arose. The interior remains stock and unmolested with no roll cage or wild aftermarket stereo system. The body has never been totaled, hit or modified with the exception of a hand crafter Fiberglass hood to conceal the Twin T-66's mounted on top of the engine. Over the years this car has been featured in many Magazine articles. I will include some of the pictures from those features such as MM&FF. There is also a page in the "Saleen Book" which documents this car and its VIN as a true factory Saleen. We do not have the Documentation letters from Saleen as we never wrote in to receive them. Now that we've got all the really cool and low mileage factory Saleen stuff out of the way, let's get down to what makes this car stand out from the rest! Motor is built to handle 25+psi. Below you will find many detailed pictures of the car. If there is something in particular that you'd like to see please ask. You will see from the pictures that this car was babied it's entire life. However, I did include some pictures that highlight some of the normal wear and tear you may find on a car that's 17 years old. Here is a list of what to expect. Known IssuesThe factory Saleen ground effects have some splits in the seems. The worst of it is the passenger side rear and a little on the drivers side front. Pics are included. The Custom made Turbo bulge hood has been a home for 2 hot turbo's for many years. Each bulge has began to crack in several places around the bulges. Pics with measurements are included. The hood would either have to be refinished by a body shop or replaced with something new and different all together. It's fully functional and looks good but the cracks are noticeable and will not be missed while looking at it. The rear bumper has a 1 inch by 1/2 inch mark in it. It's been touched up but it's noticeable still. Pics are includedOne of the factory Saleen wheels has a curb rash. I believe the others are just fine. Pics included. The exhaust hangs low. It's not an issue and it's fully functional but something to be noted. Especially if transporting on a car carrier. The front radiator support appears to have been removed and rewelded back in at some point. The car has No accident history or repair signs, a clean title and clean carfax. I believe it was removed at the time of intercooler and turbo piping installation and put back on when completed. The vehicle braking system can sometimes be hit or miss. It should be checked out by a qualified mechanic. Internet research showed 100's of results for the same factory Hydroboost problems are common for this 96+ Platform. Now that we've done the talking. The vin number to this car generated some of the factory information in the vehicle description. Obviously this car has been modified from stock. -The Air condition is mostly all there but it was unhooked at the time of build. It wouldn't take much to complete the system but it's not functioning as it sits. -The expensive aftermarket Recarro seats from Saleen are not power. - It only states Manual transmission but we've mentioned that this is a Viper Spec T-56 6 speed. It has a fresh rebuild with an $1800 receipt including a D+D Motorsports 26 spline input shaft. Since this car has so much to offer we need to add a few more benefits that we over looked -The motor has an ATI Super Damper balancer -The rotors are Cross drilled and slotted as well as zinc coated to prevent any rusting ever. These can be seen in the pictures. -The lower intake is a Victor Jr with the specific 351 stamping which I forgot to mention. - The alternator has the 3G 160amp upgrade to handle much more than the factory Saleen.
