This is a PROJECT vehicle, a 1955 Chev Belair 2 door hardtop VIN/HIN 0301609F55Y with a clear Utah title being offered at starting price at $2000.00 with a NO RESERVE. The vehicle is a no matching original with a 1956 2-barrel 265 V8 engine and power glide transmission which ran smooth when purchased.Car was dismantled and all removable panels above frame along with most parts from the front end, doors, to the rear have been media blasted and primer etched in black.When purchased it was painted a nice dark cherry black covering up a significant amount of bondo and handy man patch work. The vehicle has a significant amount of dimples, pimples, and yes cancer. Engine and transmission is out of the vehicle. I have listed 24 photos showing as many of the plus and defects as possible. Not all is evident. All front end panel sections and supports from vehicle, fenders, inter fenders, rear splash pans, front filler panel sections, radiator support and front filler, radiator, hood with hinges, springs, supports and latches have been reassembled after media blasting and etched primed without original bolts and screws and without the anti-squeak gaskets for the purpose of a static display and to make sure all part fit properly together. Doors and trunk lid the same. All fit well together. The following is a description of the defects known, but not all may not be known or completely listed. Replacement parts and improvements also listed. Original toe board pans, front floor pans and under seat floor pans have significant rust, some cancer holes with some holes punched or drilled. Rear floor looks solid with mostly surface rust and minor holes behind upper seat brace on rear passenger side floor. Transmission center panel cut up. A new Danchuk T panel primer etched included. Floor to cowl brace driver side rusted out. Passenger side not bad. Driver side fenders headlight brow has a few small holes under side. Passenger fender brow repaired. All media blasted taking out any rust including in pitted areas and finished with metal primer etched in black. Headlights bezels are pitted somewhat the same situation with parking lights and headlight buckets. Grille looks good in photos. Appears to be stainless but does have some rust which might be cleaned up. The grille bar assembly does have some flecking chrome and rust spots. Front and rear bumpers are not on car with considerable rust and may be out of shape. Comes with car if desire. Front filler panel from radiator to bumper 3-piece all media blasted and finished primed etched in black.Radiator with engine ran cool with no leeks when purchased. Radiator core support with upper bar and core support, and side fillers all blasted and primer etched.Hood and all parts, hinges, latch support, latch all media blasted and primer etched in black . Looks great even though blasting cleaned rusted pits (profile) in the top of hood in some areas and shows no problem with16 gage steel. Under side also looks great. Hood bird has flecked chrome.Rocker panels on passenger side look ok except a 2- foot missing inner panel and showing rust. Driver side rockers outside looks good, but inside and inner have heavy rust and cancer. Passenger inside passenger rocker panel brace provided. Both doors exhibit cancer in various parts, (cancer in door bottom ) some on top front and miscellaneous areas. Doors were blasted clean from rust and primer etched. Inner working window regulators for the two doors and rear window were media blasted and primer etched and in good working order. Door larch assembles are included along with interior door release mechanism, strikers, etc but not all blasted and primed and some odd and ends may be missing. Chrome on outside handles are flecking inside somewhat better. Front window vents, front windows, rear quarter windows frames are all pitted or flecking and with broken glass. Glass tracks included, some blasted and primed. The only complete glass is the rear window. To my knowledge all out side windshield stainless moldings is present, front and rear. Interior trim includes original panel gauges, clock and speaker, radio, heater cover and core, primed vent cover, dash trim, rear ashtrays, many odd and ends of connections, etc.Steel under dash air duct blasted and primer etched.Two steering wheels not complete. I believe all inside moldings through out the interior, including interior stainless, stainless interior door panel trim, and most are present. Original stainless header bows and rods for headliner included. Some rust but should buff up to a shine. Original front and rear seats. Frames somewhat rusty. Seat are leather in fair condition with some scrapes and small abrasions. Second hand seat shells and front door armrests with some stainless trim Rear metal armrest left and right blasted and primer etched. Have vinyl cover for those. Rear vynil panels between armrest come with stainless trim.Driver rear lower quarter panel (check photo) is swiss cheese that was covered with bondo. Also, evidence of welded in panel behind driver door. Could be on passenger side also. Trunk lid in good shape, blasted and etched primed. Odds and ends with trunk latch. Trunk floor(10 x 54 inches) rear section and trunk splash panels replaced and etched primed. Comes with 2 tailpan to quarter filler panels not installed. Two new body mounts and bolts at rear at trunk floor to frame have been replaced. The rest of the new all body mount kit is included with sale of car. Taillight and front parking light assembly are very corroded.Passenger side rear tail light area from trunk to quarter panel will need work. Top area over tail light will need attention as well as rear quarter. A Danchuk full trunk to quarter panel etched primed panel is included for part of this area. No exterior stainless trim with the vehicle.Engine and transmission are out of the car and goes with purchase as seen in photo. Carburetor and air cleaner included. Engine has Marvel Mystery Oil in cylinders. All underside floor braces are good except 5 braces, both ends of the outer center floor brace, passenger side floor brace, and both sides short rear floor braces. These braces a total of 5 New Danchuck braces come with car and included, not installed.Original transmission cross member is missing.Upper trunk floor shock supports cut out and a heavy steel piece has been previously been welded in across frame for the shock supports. (see photo)Gas tank was discarded.Rear leaf springs and shackles are rusty alone with rotted out bushing. Drive line blasted and primer etched.Front suspension and steering system in tack.
