DESCRIPTION1969 Plymouth Road Runner Resto-Mod Custom Hard Top With 4 Speed Manual Transmission And 575+ Horsepower Big-Block As Well As The #'s Matching Motor. This real RM23 Road Runner is in excellent condition and looks almost as good as it drives. If you are looking for a concourse restoration trailer queen, please click the back button because this is not the car for you. If you are looking for a custom driver with mind altering performance and the conveniences of a modern street machine, I may have what you are looking for. Being a driver, the car has some minor dings, scratches, and chips but shows very well overall. The car still wears its factory sheet metal, bumpers, trim, and interior. The previous owner restored the car in X9 black instead of the T7 saddle bronze it left the factory in. The car has solid floor pans, a laser straight body and frame. It was originally born with no frills and powered by the standard 335 horsepower 383 motor. The #'s matching motor was pulled and replaced with a period correct 383 block internally measuring 484 cubic inches. The motor was designed for power and reliability featuring an Eagle forged stoker crank and rods connected to Diamond pistons. On top are polished and ported Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads and intake manifold, an Atomic MSD EFI Fuel System and a Comp hydraulic flat tappet cam to giving it a bone shaking thump. The engine breaths through a custom air cleaner and hinged six-pack hood. Other components include; Comp valve train, Indy rockers, Smith Brothers pushrods, Mopar high volume aluminum water pump and housing, Mopar viscus fan, Hemi oil pickup, pump, pan, and Mancini Racing factory look-a-like aluminum radiator, Powermaster Hi-voltage alternator, and TCI thermostat activated auxiliary cooling fans. The engine makes a modest 10-1 compression is and tuned to run on pump gas. Spark is delivered via MSD digital ignition, coil, and wires. The MSD box was hidden under the battery tray to keep the engine compartment looking original. Exhaust gasses are expelled through TTI 1 3/4" headers, 2.5" exhaust, Borla Pro-XS mufflers, and has doug's electric cutouts great to open up when pulling in to local cruise and TTI 2.5" tips. Besides the ability to travel light speed, I added some creature comforts to help make it more enjoyable to drive. The factory A833 4 Speed manual transmission has been re-built with a Passon Performance 18 Spline Hemi transmission with overdrive. It is strong enough to harness all of this power yet with an overdriven 4th gear, cruising at highway speeds is a dream. Shifting is performed using a classic Hurst Pistol Grip shifter . The factory 8 3/4 rear end has been re-built with a sure sure-grip differential and 3.55 gear set. These gears coupled with the transmission allow the car to run 70 MPH while turning only 2200 RPMs. The suspension was replaced with polyurethane bushings, KYB gas shocks, Extra Heavy Duty leaf springs, and a 1 1/4" heavy duty front sway bar. Firm Feel's quick ratio power steering was added to help it turn precise and easy. The narrow rear wheels were scrapped in favor of 10" factory look-a-like steelies. BF Goodrich tires are mounted all around with Radial TA's out front and new Ditto Drag radials out back. Coming to a Stop is made easy with a front disc brake conversion. Classic Auto Air conditioning keeps the cockpit cool when out letting this beast run. The gauge cluster was sent to Redline Gauge Works where a GTX 150 MPH speedo, factory tach, and silver facing was added. While it makes considerable power, the car runs fantastic and is a pleasure to drive. The engine idles well and never gets hot at long lights or on summer cruises. There have only been 3500 miles put on the car since the work was completed. This car is simply amazing and has never been raced or abused. It comes with its #'s matching motor, spare, jack, wrench and receipts. No dreamers, tire kickers, Joy rides or experts offering advice.Come look at it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4ryxunvAtk Title in hand. Thanks
