Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my family's 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. I have records back as far as 1970 where my father registered this vehicle. It is in fantastic original shape and ready to be restored. The engine will start right up, but it is not drivable or street legal currently. Little to no rust on the vehicle. It has been in my parents garage or mine for as long as I remember. My father used to park it in the driveway under a cover in the late 70's when he would drive it back and forth to work. It has not been street legal since 1980. It is being sold as is with no warranty or guarantee. 100% complete and original car ready for restoration. Clear title. Many extra's come with the car. Hard top (missing back glass), soft top, side curtains, original jack, original lug wrench, spare wheel, 4 AH hub caps, repair book and numerous small parts. Please look at pics and ask questions. There isn't another "barn find" like this original! In one family for 44 of its 55 years! On May-01-14 at 10:10:21 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 5/1/14 The question of Rust and any specific blemishes has come up several times so I am posting several more pictures. They are described below in order. - Rust - All I can find is only surface rust. All metal is solid and the floors are solid. I pulled up the red vinyl mat on the floor of the passenger side and am posting a picture of what is there. Just surface rust. I took a flat head screw driver and scraped off the gunk and what looks like rust and as you can see in the picture you end up with solid metal and red paint. - Other blemishes - body work on the rear near the gas filler where it looks like the car was bumped at some point; the passenger side of the bonnet with a bad bondo job and paint chipping - Other items pictured - 1 of the 4 hupcaps; front lights on; front suspension driver side; under the bonnet; engine plate; vehicle number; 1970 registration receipt; ; the speedometer (it shows 30,639. my guess is that means 130,639 but I don't know); the underside of the car on the passenger side
