This model became available after the TR-3A series, and was a fresh and stunningly beautiful shape by Italian designer Michelotti. This car is believed to have an actual mileage of only 31,077. It is a full matching #'s car, highly original, and very complete, having never been fully taken apart. It has been in longtime storage in Texas. It left the Triumph factory as a Signal Red/Black example with the options of the highly desirable wire wheels and the rare overdrive unit. Bodywise, the car is in very decent overall condition with very little rust evident. The floors are mainly very solid with a few small areas that could use repair. There is some light damage to the front RH wheelarch area, where as part of the fender flare has been pushed in but could easily be pulled back out. There is a very nice extra hood for the car to replace the existing one, which has some minor damage around the headlamp cover "eyebrows". The cylinder head was removed some time ago and has been rebuilt, but was never re-installed. The pistons are stuck to the bores and may release with some penetrant liquid and effort. There is no noticeable wear on the cylinder liner walls. The car also comes with an upper and lower gasket set, a standard set of AE rod and main bearings, piston ring set, carb rebuild kits, front brake pads, spark plugs, timing chain, and a box of miscellaneous items. Additionally, there are some new trim items such as a new black top and seat covers in black, a roll of door/top seals, a new set of rear shoes, a new pair of horns, and an NOS exhaust muffler. The driveline is highly original and very complete. The car's undercarriage looks very original with a nice, straight, and solid frame. Because of the car's mileage, I'm sure that the mechanical recommissioning would be a straightforward endeavor. The car's original interior items have been saved for patterns. The original, early, white-painted facia dashboard is very decent and complete with nice and correct gauges. The correct seats, steering wheel, and top frame are present. The original windshield is broken. The car has a period luggage rack fitted. Overall, this Triumph TR-4 sports car presented for sale here is a very good car for straightforward restoration. It is a highly original example with matching numbers and very desirable factory options. It is sold with a current, clear CA title, and is available for inspection in Southern California. $5,950.
