Vehicle Detail
1984 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged 350 This is a 1984 Monte Carlo SS with a supercharged 350 capable of 1000+ horsepower! The car has a fiberglass 6 in. cowl hood. I changed the interior from the original blue to black. The seats were re-covered in the original type material. The dash was covered with a black factory style dash cover. It looks just like the original except for the color. The front suspension was rebuilt with new polyurethane bushings and new springs. I have a set of 2in. drop spindles for it, but it drives so good that I decided not to put them on. The engine is an aftermarket GM block. It has a Callies rotating assembly with forged blower pistons. The heads are dart pro 1's. The supercharger is a Weiand 6-71 topped with 2 Holley 750 vacuum secondary blower carbs. It has a boost referenced MSD programmable distributer. The distributer comes with a cable to hook to a laptop and the software to tune it with. The supercharger is set at 12% underdriven. On the 12% underdriven street tune it was dynoed at 500hp. With the supercharger pulleys swapped around to the race tune it made 1100hp on 12% overdriven. Swapping the pulleys around requires the use of race fuel, re-jetting the carbs, and lowering the timing. On the street tune you can fill it up with 87 octane and drive it anywhere without any sign of problems. The transmission is a built turbo 350 with a 5000 stall converter. It has a set of BFG T/A drag radials on the back pushed by a set of 308 gears. This old Monte is a surprisingly good street car with plenty of get up and go when you want it. You read the good, now for the minor defects. The headliner is sagging some. The speedometer recently quit working. I believe it is a speedometer cable. The cable is an easy fix on this car, I just have not had the time to do it. The paint is fresh but was never wet sanded and buffed. It was never a big enough concern to me. The car looks great like it is, but if you want an absolutely show quality car it would need to be color sanded and buffed. The air-conditioner compressor and condenser are in the trunk of the car. It doesn't have a radio. Who needs a radio when you have the whine of a blower to sing to you! Other than those few things the car is AMAZING. It rides and drives like a new car. The engine in this car cost over $16,000. I have the reserve set at $10,000 . I just have too many cars and I need to get rid of a couple of them. This car is the lowest on the totem pole for me, so here it is for sale. If you have any questions please e-mail me at rod_bender65@yahoo.com or call me at 1-662-862-2425. If you have 0 or negative feedback contact me before you bid. If you do not your bid will be canceled. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking, John. On Mar-01-14 at 21:56:43 PST, seller added the following information: I just lowered the reserve. This car is being relisted because the previous buyer had a family emergency and is currently unable to purchase the car. If you read this, I hope everything works out. I wish you the best of luck and pray for a speedy recovery.
