Vehicle Detail

4 Speed, Granada red Wildcat sport coupe with full console & tach This is one of 30 factory built 1963 Wildcats made (12- 2 doors including convertibles)- maybe 4 left ? 1963 is the first year and rarest 4 speed big Buick's with long console and close ratio shifter. Desirable original colors makes this a rare car. All the 4 speed cars were made at the Flint plant by special order only Ordered with many options, one repaint in the factory color and rebuilt mechanical's After a long search for a factory numbers matching 4 speed Wildcat, I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. It came out of a long and dry storage of 20 years in Portland OR. I bought from and met the second owner. She got the car from her neighbor that ordered the car from Braley & Graham in Portland. The story was told to her, when the car finally arrived, his salesman asked if the dealer could keep it for a extra week as they wanted to put it in their showroom and display the gentleman's hot rod that Buick could build. He agreed and waited for them to show it off. I drove the car some, then inspected and verified number matching engine and transmission were in the car. Engine was pulled, disassembled, full machine and rebuild. I never intended to sell the car so I spent a lot of time and money. The heads got a light port match, polish as well as the exhaust manifolds, this opens things up and with the improved air flow adds 10-15 HP. A mild- performance cam and valve springs were installed from T/A performance. Estimated 355 HP. All work performed by an ASE certified engine specialist with over 35 years of Buick experience. The transmission is the early T-10 with the nigh nickle gears, it received a complete rebuild. The original factory clutch is no longer made, its a center force design, so it was sent to Seattle Clutch and Brake for rebuild and balancing. The complete under carriage was steam cleaned spotless for 6 hours and inspected. Zero rust found, none in floors, trunk or rockers. After few days of detailed cleaning and prepping coat of primer and then 3 coats of 2 part epoxy chassis paint was applied. The brakes were completely rebuilt and a RARE low mile 3.42 positraction unit was located form a 4 speed car. It was inspected, serviced and installed. Suspension was rebuilt as needed, the every part was cleaned, blasted and painted to original during assembly. The correct hoses and clamps were used. Some of the work completed: -401 Engine, bored 30 over, crankshaft 10 over and all new internal parts (numbers matching) -Heads received mild performance work and mild T/A performance camshaft (numbers matching) -Exhaust manifolds sandblasted, match ported and smoothed out, then treated with high temp finish -Complete original style exhaust with low flow muffler installed and all hanger rebuilt -Factory pressure plate and disc rebuilt , flywheel resurfaced and new release bearing -Correct 4 speed positraction 3.42 differential installed (I got it with a open 3.42 diff) -Drive line rebuilt and new universal joints -Rebuilt carburetor and new fuel pump -New water pump and radiator was serviced at rad shop -New hoses and correct clamps, and new fuel lines -New A/C delco alternator , new battery and battery cables -New engine and transmission mount's, NOS Z bar and clutch operation parts -Backing plate where blasted, painted, aluminum drums were cleaned and clear coated -New shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses, master cylinder and drums resurfaced Some of the options and features are -VV1 paint code, Granada Red with White vinyl top -401 4 barrel -4 Speed t-10 transmission with full length console and working Buick tachometer -3.42 Positraction differential -Power steering & power brakes -Shaded windshield and remote mirror -Power drivers seat -Correct 1963 Buick front seat belts -Vacuum trunk release, vanity mirror on right visor -Tilt steering column -AM/FM with working power antenna -Original dealer incline plate frames (and plates in trunk) and original dealer key fob -Original Buick Red rubber floor mats in front -Deluxe interior with chrome strips on headliner - This is a driver ready car that can be enjoyed as is and completed later. The body is solid with rust bubbling in the lower corners of front fenders, and surface rust on corners of roof under belt line stainless. The paint looks good from 5 to10 feet but is a 30 year old repaint. The vinyl top is great with no aging or bubbling any were found. The door panels, rear seat and rear package shelf are nice. The steering wheel and dash are crack free! The front seats are soiled and a split in the driver seat. The carpets are original and fit well with only light fading. The original foam headliner is still there but needs replaced. Most of these failed with the car was 5 years old. The headliner panels are dry and not warped. The chrome around the hardtop windows and most of the stainless is very nice. The bumpers are original and have some age wear. I have sold many of my cars and some for friends on e-bay and always had satisfied buyers. I am an avid Buick collector and club member. I collect cars for rarity and condition, but wanting to downsize, so some one will get a great car. Please note: This is a very rare car for the right person, I paid a lot for it and put another 14k into it. Please don't call with expectations of low ball offers, I am not in a hurry to sell and it needs to go to the right person, Thanks. Open to inspections and phone calls. Steve Fisher 206-755-3420 On Apr-11-14 at 22:25:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had questions about the seats and carpets. I sprayed some cleaner on the drivers seat , hit with a brush and wiped it off for a test spot and its looks good. I also added pictures of the carpets with out the factory carpet savers hiding them and they look good. The interior would come back with little effort and money. I have been driving it the last week, what a gas. The factory close ratio shifter is amazing, short and positive shifts and pulls like a train.
