Up for sale is my 1963 Porsche 356 Coupe, vin 121994 built late in 1962 for the 1963 model year. Very unusual car, in fact, this is the first one I have ever seen in person, converted to right hand drive while in the UK and then shipped to the US much later. Steering wheel is on right hand side of car as are the gauges and the hand brake; grab handle is on the left hand side of the car. Brake, clutch and gas pedals are all on the right hand side of the car. Brake master cylinder and steering box and hand brake mechanism are all on the right hand side of the car. After talking with the previous owner he said the car was sold to the UK and converted over to right hand drive there while in the UK. Later the car was shipped to the US from the UK. Paint code on the car is #6203 which is the very pretty Oslo blue. Body is straight and does not appear to have been in an accident. Hood and engine lid fit even. Doors sag and car will need floors and longitudinals, and other rust repair. Please see pictures. Engine number is 716776 and is stamped 616/15 on the second bolt boss of the engine case under the generator placing the engine as a 1964 with 75 rated horse power. Engine is complete from the air cleaners to the muffler. Transmission is complete as well and can be shifted from inside of the car, i.e., you can feel the gear shifter go in and out of gear when it is moved. Front pulley turns over with a wrench. Car rolls and steers easily. To keep it from rolling we put it in gear. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a right hand drive 356. With prices of Porsche 356s skyrocketing these past few years, this will be an excellent investment in years to come. If you want to put the car back to left hand drive we can provide a pedal assembly for left hand drive as well as a steering box. The master cylinder can be relocated to the left hand side of the car since there is now a plate covering where it was originally located. The hand brake can be moved as well easily. A donor dash would be required to move the gauges back to the left hand side. The cost of these parts would be extra. We are a licensed and bonded and insured Auto Dealer in North Carolina.
