Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. This car is extremely original and unmolested. It is optioned with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, tilt and telescoping steering wheel and an automatic transmission. It comes with owners manual and original Tank Sticker It has a documented actual 66,486 original miles and is 100% numbers matching. It has recently received new brake calipers and master cylinder along with fresh carpets and seat covers. And a new battery. The exhaust was replaced and is in excellent condition. The interior is very nice as the dash is basically perfect and the door sills are new. There are new door panels yet to be installed but the original are very nice. There are many new rubber seals available to be installed as well. The body appears to be accident free although there are areas of paint touch ups. There is an area behind the right rear wheel where the fiberglass needs a small repair. It is shown in one of the photos. I have been told that the paint is mostly original. The shine is ok and looks great in pictures but this car deserves a fresh respray. The engine compartment is extremely original with no modifications. The chrome bumpers are straight but are starting to lose their shine. The engine starts easily and settles into a nice idle. It does not smoke, leak, or make any strange sounds. The transmission shifts perfectly and downshifts properly. The brakes are good but could more breaking in. Excellent pedal pressure. The calipers and master cylinder are new. The tires have plenty of tread but are old and starting to crack. The car drives very well. It tracks perfectly straight and has no rattles. Not all of these cars are the same and this one is excellently tight. The power steering is quiet and the heating and air conditioning appear not to be working. The tachometer and the clock are not working but the fuel, temp, oil pressure and ammeter work fine. The headlights, tail lights and side marker lights all work fine. The wipers work as does the wiper door . The convertible top is in ok original shape This car can be driven and enjoyed right now which is what I have been doing recently. It is an original, unmolested, low mile Corvette that is the last year of the desirable chrome bumpers. It drives very well with no shakes or rattles and it tracks straight. This is a perfect car to repaint and take to the next level or just enjoy as is. It looks very nice and the interior is great. Please have all of your questions answered before you bid.
