For sale is a 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera in factory Guards Red with black interior, VIN # WP0AB0912GS121072. This car has the original 3.2L engine and a Type 915 5-speed transmission. This car has 147,XXX miles and is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition. Cosmetically, the car is in very good shape. There are a few rock chips towards the front of the car, which you can see in the pictures. The rear decklid is a bit more faded than the rest of the paint, but it's only noticeable up close. The car is sitting on 16" black and polished genuine Fuchs wheels, 6's on the front and 7's on the back, all of which are in great condition. The Fuchs are wrapped in 225/50/16 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires. The interior is also in great shape, with everything as it should be. Also, the dash is fully intact, without any cracks or other signs of exposure. Mechanically, the car is in outstanding shape for its age. The engine runs exactly as it should, without smoking or leaking oil. The transmission is equipped with a short throw shifter and shifts smoothly. The suspension has recently been corner balanced and aligned by Pat Williams Racing in Memphis, TN. Recently, the stock A/C compressor was upgraded to a 993 A/C compressor, so the A/C blows ice cold, helping to keep you cool as you show off your new baby to the neighborhood. All in all, this Carrera is the most responsive, mechanically sound one we've come across in a while. I would not hesitate to jump in her and drive her cross country tomorrow. This is the most sought after color combination of 80's 911's. Recently, they have been appreciating in price and should be a good investment, long term. On Apr-03-14 at 14:24:35 PDT, seller added the following information: At the request of multiple bidders, we paid for a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) from Music City P&A, one of the most respected Porsche shops here in Nashville. The results show that both the compression is high and cylinder leakage is minimal.These are outstanding numbers, which indicate that the engine most likely has had a top-end done in the recent past. Also, according to P&A, the oil leaks and synchro wear are very minor issues and won't have to be addressed for quite some time. This car is mechanically solid and will be running strong for years to come.Documentation is limited on this 911. However, this PPI should give bidders confidence.
