Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a beautiful 1966 Mustang with removable fastback roof. You will be the talk of the town and the center of attention at car shows. These cars rarely come up for sale (1-2 per year). The body is very solid with no signs of any accidents over the years. The front aprons are original and also have never been damaged. The floors are solid and never patched or repaired. The paint is fresh base coat Titanium Silver/Jet black stripes, the clear coat has been cut and buffed to a beautiful shine. The interior carpet and seats were replaced a couple years ago and are still in great shape, the door panels and gauge bezels and steering wheel are new. This car started off as a 6-cylinder coupe, it went under a complete 8-cylinder conversion including 5-bolt lugs all around and a disc brake upgrade to handle the extra power. The engine is a 289 CID V-8 with many upgrades like a 4 Barrel Holley Carburetor, Edelbrock Intake Manifold and new throaty sounding dual exhaust. This car has the strongest 289 I have driven, the previous owner didn't mention any internal motor modifications but the car really moves! We originally purchased from New Mexico where we believe it spent most of its life because the body and frame are in such great shape. The chrome and stainless are new or in very good shape. 17" Riddler wheels with new Sumitomo low profile tires, (front - 205/50 R17 & rear - 225/45 R17). Feel free to come and visit and take it for a spin, it won't disappoint. Here are some common questions I get about the removable top: · How is the roof attached? Is the roof water-tight? The roof weighs approx. 75 pounds and can be removed in less than 2 minutes. The top is secured by two bolts in the front and two wing nuts in the rear. There is a metal header attached to the roof. On this metal header, there are two tinnerman nuts (mustang fender nut clips) - the two bolts go thru the mustang convertible sun visor bracket dowel pin guide hole and thread into the tinnerman nuts, The fiberglass roof (up front) has a gasket that sits on the windshield stainless steel trim. The remainder of the top is lined with weather-stripping which will keep most of the water and wind noise out, however if this car is taken to a car wash, and the pressure washer is aimed at the roof to body lines, or the window to roof lines, some water will get in, just like any old Mustang. · Where can I buy a roof? These custom-made roofs are made specifically for the 1964-66 and 1967-68 and depends on your car's configuration. The price is $2,500 + $150 crate fee + shipping. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Note this is for the fiberglass roof only. The back window, drip rail and window trim is not included. Contact me for more information. If the top you want is for a coupe to hardtop convertible conversion like this one is you will need to reinforce the frame (I have a link that shows how this is done) you will also need to change over to fastback door windows.· Can the trunk open with the roof on?No. The trunk can not be opened with the roof on. The car is available anytime for inspection and a test drive with proof of money. Please make arrangements before the auction ends. The closest airport is ECP (Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport). I also have a couple videos, send me a message and I will send you a link to YouTube. Would you consider a buy it now of $28,000? With the V8 conversion did you change the rear end or drill new studs? Are the gages aftermarket? I notice they are white. Thanks, hope to do business with you. A: Thank you. I actually have a buy it now price on the car for $33,000. I cant see it on my page but it is on the listing page. I think the car should go for over $30,000. I have built 5 of these cars over the last 5 years and the sale prices have steadily rose from $29,000 to $43,000 (was a 1968). The rearend is from an 8 Cylinder mustang. The gages are stock with white overlays. I have went through the whole interior and updated everything that needed it, new heater switch plate, gage bezel, ect.. Thank you again for your message. I look forward to you bid. This is a no reserve. If you are the highest bidder at $26,000.. thats what you will get it for. Happy bidding!
