Up for auction today is a nice 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel. The car is great condition for it age, plus they are getting harder to find. This car I am selling form My sister. She has had it for about 3 years, and got it from the original owner. My sister new I restore these little Rabbits, plus she loves how they look so she got it. I put a new engine in, but after 20,000 miles she took it to a oil change place and they didn't put the filter back on right, and spun the lower bearings in it. The oil change place made it right and paid $3500, and My sister put in another $1000, to do a new 1.9. I got the engine from a company out of Germany. It came as a long block (New block, pistons, rods, crank, bearings, seals, head, cam, valves) and I had the rest of the engine parts. The car runs better than it did when it was new. The 1.9 engine has great power. The car is nice, though it does have its flaws. I will list all the new, and good, plus the old, and ugly. The NEW. 1. New engine. 2. New water pump. 3. New timing belt, and tensioner pulley. 4. New injectors. 5. Rebuilt injection pump. 6. New radiator. 7. New battery. 8. New left CV shaft. 9. New exhaust, and muffler. 10. New front, and rear brakes. 11. Shocks, struts new 30K ago. 12. Tires are 95% good. 13. All electrical works great. 14. CAR HAS NO RUST. 15. New headliner, and shift boot. 16. Paint is in good condition, though not perfect. Now the old, and ugly. 1. Dash has some cracks. (see pictures) 2. Drivers seat is starting to show its age. (see pictures) 3. Small dents and dings here and there. (see pictures) 4. Carpets, and rear seat has some light stains here and there. (see pictures) 5. No A/C. 6. Top of rear seat has sun damage. (see pictures) I have given a honest and thorough accounting of this car, to the best of My ability.
