Vehicle Details and History: Dimensions: The truck is 17' 11" long; 5' 6" wide; and 7' 3" high Mechanical: This 1924 Graham Brothers/Dodge 1 and 1/2-Ton Flatbed Truck is powered by a Dodge-built L-head four-cylinder engine that displaces 212 cubic-inches and produces 35 horsepower. Transmission is a 3-speed. It has a factory 12 volt battery and electrical system – all lights on the vehicle work. It is equipped with a single rear light and manual windshield wipers. Exterior: Cab is yellow and fenders are a reddish brown color. It has a front bumper painted black, no rear bumper, and yellow spoke wheels. The open cab’s front window is in excellent condition—clear and without any cracks or other damage. The bed of the truck is painted (green) wood and is in excellent shape. The vehicle does not come equipped with a spare tire. Interior: The truck has a bench seat upholstered in a black vinyl which is in excellent shape. The floor is covered with a gray vinyl material and is in equally good condition. Headliner is made of wood and is also very good as are the door panels (covered in black vinyl) and the dash (painted yellow). Cab top is black vinyl type material. Vehicle History: Its first owner used the truck on a farm just north of the village of Harpers, PA (north of Hershey). It was purchased off the farm in the mid-1950s and maintained in its original state until purchased by a third owner who resold the truck at auction in the mid-1970s. It subsequently went through several other owners before it was treated to a full restoration in the mid-1980s. The truck was acquired by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum in 1998 where it has been displayed and maintained as part of its collection since that time. The truck has been on the show field several times and has been judged and awarded an AACA Senior and a Grand National First (affixed to the vehicle)). Historical Background: Ray, Joseph and Robert Graham were born into a farm family and got their start in the auto industry by converting Ford cars into one-ton express or stake trucks using a rear axle of their own design. They soon graduated to the manufacture of truck bodies for passenger car chassis and were offering their own line of trucks by 1920. Their success attracted the Dodge Brothers who were looking to enter the truck market. The Dodge Brothers Company entered into an agreement with the Graham Brothers Company in 1921 whereby the Grahams would manufacture1.5 ton trucks with engines and drive trains supplied by Dodge, and with cabs and bodies manufactured in the Grahams' plants. These trucks were sold exclusively through Dodge Brothers dealers. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the truck, if desired, are the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle -- unless other arrangements are made in advance. If the truck is not picked up within this time frame (and other satisfactory arrangements are not made), then we reserve the right to charge a storage fee for the vehicle based on the local going rate.
