Vehicle Detail
Rare and great looking 1957 Caballero Hardtop wagon finished in Seminole red and Dover white Well optioned car with power brakes, power steering, heater/defroster, radio , easy eye glass, safety group, divided rear seat, deluxe outside mirrors. This is the car every one wants, a hardtop station wagon. While driving to take picture today, 3 people stopped to ask if they could take a picture. It drives good with the stock 364 300 HP 4 barrel nailhead engine and looks stunning. The complete exhaust system was replaced and correctly routed through the rear bumper using the original mounts. I choose to eliminate the resonators, has a lite rumble at idle ( sounds great). Very quite going down the road. I bought the car at a Buick dealer in Cottenwood AZ 7 years ago. I then put in in dry storage. The car was recently removed and sent to a classic repair and service shop that works on a lot of old Buick's. What was recently replaced was: -water pump & flushed cooling system -new radiator hoses and heater hoses -spark plugs, ignition wires and filters -delco battery -brake system complete hydrolic rebuild -brake master/booster rebuilt -rebuilt carburetor and drained fuel system -service the dynoflow transmission & new fluid -complete duel exhaust and mufflers (correct thru the rear bumper) -oil change -engine mounts -wiper control and wiper motor Steve Correy Buick bought the car from the original owner that came from California about 30 years ago. 25 Years ago the car was repainted (showing some age and one thin spot by drivers rear view mirror), all the external chrome re-plated ( still looks stunning) and replaced the upholstery in same pattern (cardboard headliner was shot and replaced - a little funky but works) The car start well, has smooth power, steers good and stops great. It will need new tires as they are 30 year old white walls and new shocks ( shocks are $160 for all 4) Not working is clock, radio (hums w/turned on) temp gauge and speedo ( I think the cable is bad) Power seat switch is apart (motors untested - looks all there) Miles are unknown as the odometer says 1 mile. Very solid car, there is rust that needs fixed in the spare tire well, one pimple in some of the doors and several pimples in right dogleg ( see picture). None found on the floor board from under the car, there is a good picture of the rocker panel, you can see no evidence of filler or rust repairs. This is not a show car on a scale of 1-10 I would give the paint a 7 (older starting to show age), the chrome a 9.5 ( looks new), interior 6.5 ( funky headliner and not correct seat material ) . With a very little effort and cost on this straight and solid car you would have one of the favorite car at most cruises. Clear title in my name, I have sold many cars on e-bay for myself and others. I try to explain the car honestly. Phone calls and inspections are welcome Steve Fisher 206-755-3420 - No I don't have a buy it now price !!! and the reserve is fair for the rarity and condition of this car. On Mar-13-14 at 11:42:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I added two pictures today I took with my i-phone. I shows the proper color much truer then when I took them in the sun. Thanks for the phones call. Reserve is close. Steve
