Vehicle Detail
This is a rare opportunity and while I have a very low reserve price, I also have an extremely low buy it now. This will go away if the reserve is met and then it goes to the highest bidder. Probably the most noticeable feature of this early, classic, naked Wing is its originality. While I think the seat may be a custom and there is some sort of doodad that has been added to the front fender, it seems that everything else is pretty much original. That even includes the sidecovers, tank and tank fold-down panels which not only have original paint but decals as well. I bought this to fix up and ride a few years ago and never got around to it. Now I'm looking at retiring and going on an extended sailing trip and need to sell off all of my motorcycle projects and parts. If you buy this bike as a project, you won't be disappointed. While it does run, it does need some work. The engine may just need to have the carbs cleaned or timing reset to run properly, but I can get it to fire up and there are no troubling engine noises. Having said that, this is not sold as a running, spend an afternoon and ride it off into the sunset bike. And, due to its 37 year age, it is sold As-Is, Where-Is. I got it running and found that it overheated quickly. Thinking that it was only a thermostat, I pulled it apart, replaced the thermostat and automatic fan switch and found that it still ran hot. Along with the other tweaking you might do, it might need a water pump. If I were going to keep it, that wouldn't be an issue because I would also want to replace the timing belt anyway. Along with a clear Michigan title, it is sold with a paper copy of the Clymer service manual and a CD with factory Honda service manual as well. Please look at all of the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. If you need transportation, I can arrange to bring it to your door within a reasonable distance of Western Michigan. If you need transportation, please contact me during the sale and I'll either give you a firm price or you will have time to make transportation arrangements. This is a sweet old bike that would either make for a great restoration candidate or could be made into a lovely naked cruiser or cafe racer. UPDATED INFORMATION Brakes: Although both front calipers, lines, front master cylinder are on the bike, and the front wheel turns freely, the entire front brake system will need to be bled at a minimum or you'll need to install new seals, etc. as required before you ride. The same is true for the rear brakes, but the rear master cylinder was stuck and is removed. It will need a kit before being reinstalled. If you are going to ride this bike, you will want to verify that both front and rear brakes are OK. Transmission: Although I've never taken this bike down the road, the operation of the transmission would appear to be perfect. With the rear wheel off the ground, I can easily, and with smooth, positive engagement clicks, move the shifter up and down through the gears. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
