Vehicle Detail
ANTIQUE CAR / MOTORIZED CARRIAGE / MOTORIZED BUGGY/ HORSELESS CARRIAGE The motor seems loud in the videos but it really is not. The motor is located under the seat and accessed by lifting the seat up and out. The seat stifles a lot of the sound. This vehicle did belong to a 90 year old friend of mine and I acquired it after he recently passed away. He often took it to car shows and always brought home the " oldest vehicle" trophy. I am female and really have no use for this vehicle nor the mechanical knowledge of what it may need so I am trying to re-home it to someone who will appreciate it. I did ride in this vehicle about a year ago. It is currently running as you can see in the videos. My father tells me he believes the carburetor needs cleaned. It starts with choking if somewhat warm outside but will not if very cold. The video was taken on 3-1-2014 and it was close to 40 degrees here. The vehicle is chain driven and the chains are currently off of it. I assume the original owner was getting ready to replace the master links on them as he has new ones with the chains. This is equipped with an 8HP Briggs motor and I am not sure what the transmission is. You have to manually put the vehicle into gear with a lever. We have not personally driven this. We believe it has a high and low for forward and does have a reverse. You can not get into the vehicle and drive as is as the chains are not on it. The original owner had told me this was a 1902 Bloomberg when he first got it. The steps on the side have Moon Bros on them however. I have no actual documentation to support what this really is. I listed as a 1902 as that is what I was told it was but again....no documentation. . Ebay mandates I have to fill in mileage so I listed at 01. This is not the correct mileage and I have no way of knowing how many miles are on it. The early 1900 vehicles did not have titles and were sold with bill of sales only. I had to list title as clear as Ebay forces a seller to select from there list of options. I DO NOT have a title or the original bill of sale so a new bill of sale written by me will be provided to the buyer if he/she wishes. I do not know if a title can be obtained since it has never had one. I do not know if this is street legal. This steers very well and wheels turn freely ( I know from 1 previous ride I had in the vehicle about a year ago and pushing it in and out of my garage since I have owned it over the past few months.) I do not know what is or may not be original on the vehicle. I am selling it as is so please bid solely on what you see in the photos and do not rely on my knowledge. The vehicle is made of wood and metal. My father did change the oil in the motor before starting it in November which is the month that it became mine. It was in a barn when the original owner had it and has been in a garage since I have owned it. Paint is far from perfect and this will need some mechanical issued addressed. I know for sure that it needs the chains installed ( we have them) and the carb will more than likely need cleaner ran through it according to my dad. I have no further knowledge of what it may or may not need. Pulleys for chains do turn so the vehicle should go if they are put back on. Lights do not seem to be hooked up or working. Personal inspections are welcomed. Vehicle is located in Mt. Vernon, IL 62864. Prefer you pick up in person but shipping is an option if YOU make all necessary arrangements and pay for such fully. I will not cover shipping cost or find a shipping company for you. Buyer or a transport company will have to come to my home to pick up but we can be available any day/time. This is an antique that is being sold as is without warranties, guaranties or promises. It will surely be a lot of fun for the new owner whether attending car shows, parades or just personally collecting! REITERATE: vehicle may not be a 1902 for certain, name of vehicle is unknown for certain, there is no title as vehicle has never had one, mileage stated (01)is not accurate, vehicle does run. Item is being sold by the owner.
