Up for bid is a two owner,109,000 mile, 2003 Ford Explorer XLS, 4.0 V6 engine with automatic/overdrive transmission. It is 4 wheel drive, has P/W, P/S, P/B, and P/Locks. This Explorer runs and drives extremely well and has had the oil changed every 5,000 miles. The transmission was rebuilt at approx. 75,000 miles, and in the recent year has had a new battery, alternator, tune-up, ball joints and rear brakes. The front brakes and rotors were replaced 2 weeks ago. It has four excellent Michelin tires. The interior is very nice. We had planned to keep this car for the next several years, however, last week, we pulled out of a gas station and struck a concrete divider. It will need a passenger door (local wrecking yards are charging $250.-$400. for a door, even some white ones are available). The bottom of the front fender as well as the rear door has some very minor damage. There is no damage to the rocker panel. Before this incident, it had never been in an accident. We did not have collision insurance on the car. We have decided to buy a new car, and sell this Explorer without repair. Therefore, it is being sold as-is, without a Maryland state inspection. It has a clear Maryland title (not salvage). The Sirius radio receiver shown in the pictures is not included in this sale. A $500. deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end.
