After meeting a Japanese vehicle exporter through a mutual friend, I became an importer of rare and unique 4x4's. I specialize in Toyota Land Cruisers and other Toyota 4x4's. I had the chance to obtain this turbo-diesel Blizzard LX, and couldn't pass up the opportunity. The Toyota Blizzard was a joint project between Toyota and Daihatsu which was designed to compete with smaller SUV's like the Suzuki Samurai. The Blizzard was produced between 1980 and 1990 and appeared as three different "generation" models. This '86 is a second-generation Blizzard with only 111,000 KM's (69,000 miles)! Click here to view all 115 photos Rust-Free, Original Condition This Blizzard LX is a rust-free and well-maintained vehicle. The photos show the condition and tell the story. The body has some dings and scratches as would be expected on any 28 year-old car, but it hasn't been overtaken with rust like some vehicles of that age. It's a lot of fun to drive, and attracts a lot of attention as being a unique vehicle. You can expect to experience between 22 and 28 MPG fuel economy which makes this a great commuter vehicle or daily driver. You can see any of the vehicle's defects in the complete set of 115 photos. Mechanically, everything works as it should although shifting from first to second gear can have a slight "catch" depending on your speed. Even the radio works. The A/C system is operating and fully charged with R12. All lights, safety equipment and mechanical systems function properly. There is a small tear in the drivers side seat, and the headliner is coming loose around the edges of the interior panels but these are minor cosmetic issues. The PTO winch and 4x4 system work, and it has manual locking hubs. Although I deal extensively in the larger Land Cruiser 70 and 60 series turbo-diesels, this Blizzard has been a joy to own and drive. It is surprisingly roomy for the driver and front passenger, and is a nimble vehicle around town and a comfortable vehicle on the highway.Please note that the correct VIN is LD20002683. eBay requires a 17 character VIN in the VIN field of the listing. Click here to view all 115 photos 2LT 4-Cylinder Turbo Diesel Engine The 2LT is a Toyota-built diesel engine still in production and used in vehicles around the world. The 2LT features a 2466cc inline 4-cylinder engine fitted with a turbo and has a compression ratio of 20:1. Here's a quick video of the engine starting, running and stopping. In addition, I sandblasted and painted the wheels black and installed a brand new set of five Goodyear Wrangler Radials. I also painted the front bumper and winch housing. Owning a Right-Hand-Drive Import First, this is a 100% legal and documented import vehicle. I have copies of all the customs, EPA, DOT and import paperwork that go with the vehicle to the new owner. This Blizzard has been titled in Missouri, and can be legally titled and driven in all 50 states. Replacement parts and accessories are generally available to ensure a long life of service. Driving a right-hand-drive vehicle is not nearly as difficult as it might first appear. After a few minutes, any driver can become comfortable with driving "on the wrong side."
