AS IS NEEDS WORK - PROJECT - COMPLETE PARTS CAR 1988 Volkswagen Fox GL 2 door Station Wagon - 1.8 - 4 speed manual PROJECT VEHICLE 2 barrel Zenith progressive carburetor NOT fuel injected 116k miles - Rare find - VW Fox 2 door wagon was only imported to the USA 1987- 1990. I have had many many VW's over the years I have several right now just trying to thin the herd - I hate to scrap the Fox it was at one time a sought after VW being 2 door wagon mainly why I have been paying to shuffle it around storage the last few years but it has to go. I purchased this Fox from a friend (original owner) nothing wrong it ran great I drove it daily for a couple months ran great, garaged it at 116k for the 100k service "water pump timing belt" decided restore it as my sons first car then got busy lost interest mechanic was taking for every, ended up putting the Fox away in storage for the last few years never drove it again. Body is solid.. deck & hood both have a small rust hole on them, when I bought the Fox only thing really wrong with it was a dent in the front fender (replaced it) gas tank had a small leak (replaced tank) windshield was crack still cracked. The motor will start, The car always ran great. many new parts on the car but it was a project I started a few years ago invested a lot of money in it then lost interest and left it sitting in storage. Head was machined & surfaced nothing was wrong with the head just had some work done to it while it off the car, the head had to be removed and machined so the injector holes could be plugged due to it was about to become carburated, tanked surfaced new lifters, 2 barrel intake was imported from the UK, new re-man Zenith 2B2 progressive carb. originally I spent around $800.00 to have this head worked and set up for the intake and carb my loss your gain. The intake is a VW AUDI OEM intake I was told it came off an early 1.8 Scirocco, perfect fit to the Fox 1.8 head, uses H2o choke, Zenith 2B2 Carb was the OEM carb for this set up, they are VW parts - Not after market "lets put a carburator on it and hope it works" deal.. The carb could need rebuilt due to it sitting. New fuel tank, new fuel pump, new water pump, timing belt, all belts hoses suspension work, brake work, plugs wires, cap rotor, I did a lot of stuff to this car but then it sat in a body shop un touched not driven for a few years car has not been on the road or driven since this work was done just sat, always indoor either the body shop or I a was paying to store it in dry storage up till August 2013, since August it has been sitting in my drive way. When I say "new part" keep in mind never been on the road but they have been on the car for the last couple years sitting. many great parts, rather than nickel dime parts here it is listed AS - IS complete parts car all or nothing, windshield is cracked most of what is missing from the car is in side the car everything I have is shown in the pictures, note as the car was moved from storage to body shop back to storage back to my house I'm sure a piece or part is missing bolts nuts nothing major or obvious, maybe for the most part it is 99.9% here. The interior is actually fairly nice it is dirty due to sitting and as seen when parts came off the car they went in to the car so they didnt get lost, I know the door panels are there nice but warped since they are just card board, door handles window cranks ect. are in the car.
