I have a 1973 Volkswagen super beetle that I tore down to bare metal and started over. It had a few bad rusty places that are typical for these things, I cut out the metal where the running boards fasten and welded in new 1/8" flat stock, the pan was good except where the battery goes and I put new metal there. I went over the whole car and any places that were even starting to rust I cut out and welded in new metal. The only spot left to fix is the passenger door. It has rust at the bottom of the door and I have a new piece to weld in. The car is pretty much ready to paint other than the door. I have everything that I took off the car most of the stuff is good. The engine has been tore down and cleaned, I have all the new bearings and seals to put it back together all you will need is pistons and jugs you could probably reuse the pistons just put on new rings. The auto stick transmission is in great shape. I have redone the axles and repacked the bearings. The seats are like new. I have all the glass except the windshield and I broke it taking it out. The front end has all new parts with new struts. I have a lot of time and money invested in the car. I am moving and have no place to put the car its in my way. This could make a really nice car. It is a left hand drive.
