Vehicle Detail
I have owned this beauty since brand new except for one short period when I put it in a friends name for safe keeping. My 911 is a great ride. Newer in an accident. Zero rust! One night I hit 135. Good thing I wasn't stopped. This model of air cooled 911 is so much fun to drive. With the top down the mechanical sound of the engine is mind blowing as you scream through 80 in second. I used to rip around the California mountains at Lake Tahoe like a race driver. It was my California car so it is rust free and never driven in winter or salt. Paint job is excellent except for issue stated in disclosure. This car is in perfect mechanical condition with new tires. No cracks in dash or trim. Very low oil burn. Engine in great condition. No tonneau cover. At less than 92,500 actual miles my 911 is among the lowest mileage 1986 911s on the market. Over the last 28 years, I drove all but about 200 of those miles. I was intending to give it to my youngest daughter but she lives in Massachusetts where I want her to have 4 wheel drive vehicle for full time, all weather safety. That is why the license reads "Avas 911". Including corrective paint and interior, I would estimate less than $4,000 to bring it into "car show" condition. I would recommend a new sound system as part of any upgrade. The single CD player is so inappropriate for this sexy beast. Note: 1st gear synchronizer issue discovered during January 2014 Pre-Buy. Not noticeable when I shifted into 1st at full stop. eBay Buyer and I could not agree on adjusted price.Entire engine and transmission are now being removed by a Porsche Specialty Shop(see photos) with the transmission being overhauled and the engine inspected for oil leaks with all leaks to be corrected. Engine compartment will be cleaned and re-insulated.Car will be ready for inspection on Feb 15, 2014On Jan-24-14 at 14:40:44 PST, seller added the following information: Issue with paint on front has been fully addressed and corrected by proper cleaning and buffing. No refinishing! Paint is now excellent overall. 9.5 out of 10. The owner of the Porsche maintenance shop is driving the car daily prior to transmission removal. Small squawks being addressed. He states power levels are very good.
