Vehicle Detail
1990 Toyota One Ton (1-ton) Dually Pickup Truck with Aluminum Dumping Body. This truck started life as an Southwestern US UHaul truck. I removed the box and fabricated a hidden dump frame for the aluminum folding sides bed. This can handle all of a ton of cargo, but the dump system can only dump about 1500 lbs of cargo. It's not super heavy duty and is not meant to dump extremely heavy cargo. I built it to take leaves and household debris to the dump and pick up mulch for the yard. The bed is 9.5 x 6.5 feet and can hold a lot of stuff. It has tie downs that pop up from the bed. Air conditioning works, but may need a recharge. Still blows cold, but you wish it were a little colder.Tires are about 95% tread life left and are Yokohama Supervans made to hold a lot of weight for a small truck. No cracks or dry rot. Fairly new (2 years... I don't drive it much) Needs front shocks (included, new in box, need to be installed) and a front end alignment (pulls a little to the left)Brakes are goodVery little rust, some surface rust on the passenger floorboard and some surface rust along the bottom seams of the doors. No rot or holes. The floorboard rust comes from a small dribble that follows down the dump bed wires through the firewall. Will need some tlc to stop the drips. Reinforced frame from UHaul. Optima battery (works fine but getting older, about 4-5 years old) Has a high idle that is a little rough, see video, you can hardly tell. It hesitates slightly at times. In trying to find the source of the rough idle I have recently changed the following:Brand new correct bosch fuel pumpWires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor PCV valveCorrect factory O2 sensorAir filterFuel filterCoolant temperature sensorFuel injectors (aftermarket seen here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-4Runner-Pickup-89-95-3VZE-3-0L-V6-upgrade-fuel-injectors-w-video-/261146725006?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota|Model%3APickup&hash=item3ccd8eca8e&vxp=mtr)Maybe a vacuum leak? The shortblock was replaced by UHaul approximately 20k miles prior to me purchasing it. It also had a tranny refresh at the same time. To my knowledge the heads etc are not redone. I purchased the truck at around 195k miles so the block has around 30k miles on it. When the tranny was replaced, they remove the button for the transmission that puts it in "power" mode. I don't know why, perhaps the tranny was a swap and didn't have this feature, your guess is as good as mine. Shifts through gears well. The shifter on the column looses the light indicator from time to time so you have to "know" where the gear is. Inspections and questions are encouraged. I am willing to be available for a transport company pickup if you make all the arrangements. 1/14/2014 - The optima battery is on it's last legs. I will replace the battery with a new (non-optima) battery. I started it this morning and it was running fairly rough until it got warm, this makes me a little nervous, so please be sure to ask any questions or come inspect the truck before bidding.
