Vehicle Detail

This Triumph was originally purchased new in Glendale, Arizona and was owned by the same family until a rear end accident landed it in the insurance salvage yard. I purchased this car in January 1988 from an insurance salvage pool. I then drove it until the engine died in 2000. I drove the car home, and it has been in storage ever since. It now has an Arizona restored salvage title. Car is for sale as and where is. Payment will be cash upon pickup of the vehicle. A $100 deposit will be required within 2 days of winning the bid. Vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of close of auction unless you have made other arrangements with the seller. Since my answers to those questions did not show up in the Q&A listings, I am also posting one of the questions with my reply here. Q: Did the accident crumple any of the frame members or just tweak the alignment? From the photos the body damage didn’t look that bad which would make me think that the impact never reached any of the frame members. A: I would say that a car almost always has some frame damage when it is hit. I had the car put in the shop. It was put on a Chief EZ-Liner frame straightening machine in 1988. The body was pulled out and the frame aligned. It was all done in the same process over a few days. The body was roughed in. It still needed some final hammering and addition of Bondo, but I just primered the bare spots and never did this. I just drove it and always figured I would get to finish the body someday. I drove the car several years until the engine died in 2000. Assume both frame and body damage. The body is strong, not the thin steel that cars today are made of.
