Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1969 Lincoln Continental. This car was recently pulled out of a barn where it has sat for the last 25 year. When the car was parked 25 years ago it was in good running and driving condition. This is truly one of those stories you hear about a car being in a burn for all of these years and now it has come out of the barn and up for auction. After setting for all these years the car currently is not in running and driving condition. Before being put back on the road it will need brakes, a tune up, and general maintenance. The engine in the car will turn over with a wrench on the crankshaft. It appears that the car was repainted before being parked years ago. I found a small can of green paint in the glove box that matched the exterior color. Overall the body is in real good shape. There is no rust on the car or on the under side. There is some surface rust on the under side, but that is it. The body does have some minor dings and dents, but no major dents or scratches. All the exterior trim is in decent shape and is all there. The windshield has a 6-8 inch crack in the far passenger side and has some scratches from the windshield wipers. To me it looks okay if you want to keep it like it is, but you may want to have it replaced. All the other glass in the car is in good shape. The center part of the grill is broken and will need replaced. It looks like years ago after being repainted someone started to redo the interior. It appears that the interior was white and was changed to black. I am not sure what they used to refinish the seats, but it is starting to crack and show the white under the black. The headliner need finished. It is partly hanging down and the trim pieces need to be put back up. The dash pad has some cracks, but it is not to bad. The car is complete and this in it's self is worth quite a bit. If you try to go out and find these pieces for these cars it can get expensive fast. All in all this car is in real good shape. This car was pulled out of a barn with 5 other cars. Out of the 6 cars total I feel this is the best car of the bunch. I even found the broadcast card Ford used to put the car together. The two back brakes had to be removed inorder to roll the car. The car currently will roll but not drive under it's own power. It will require a wench for the car to be loaded. This will make for an excellent project and not require a tremendous amount of work to restore it. This vehicle is being listed with no reserve, so if you do not intend to own the car do not bid on it. It will go to the highest bidder. For some reason with my past listings of the Lincolns I have been selling people are having a hard time understanding this. So again if you do not intend on owning the car PLEASE DO NOT BID ON IT. IT WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. I can help you or your shipper load the car, but as I said before you will need a wench to load the car. If you have any question please call 913-636-3469. I perfer a cashers check or money order for the payment. Cash in person is okay as well. The vehicle will not be shipped until the funds clear the bank. I will also hold the title until the funds clear. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of the sale of the vehicle. This car is listed for sale locally. Thanks for looking at the vehicle. On Dec-25-13 at 15:05:58 PST, seller added the following information: I was asked if the power options were working on the car. Today I went out and hooked up jumper cables to the positive and negitive cables of the car. Mind you the power was a little weak doing it this way, but it worked. I was able to get all the windows to work other than the front passenger side. I was also able to get the power seat to work.
