Vehicle Detail
We purchased this car from the insurance company and repaired the following with new OEM Mercedes parts:Rear strut mount, left rear wheel, left outer quarter panel ( all panels are prepainted) rear lower valence. The left door plastic skin is slightly damaged but we will provide a new one(prepainted) or reduce price by $137; buyers choice. The car now runs and drives perfect and you can drive anywhere. The only thing remaining is the repair or replacement of the metal B pillar behind the drivers side door and the replacement of the radio. [The radio that was in the car had special features and was removed. A used am/fm CD radio can be purchased used for $75; or one with GPS for around $400.] Once these parts are replaced the car will again be in brand new condition. The original sticker price including optional air conditioning and electric power steering was $14,642 less than 4 months ago. The car will come with a salvage receipt which means it most likely will need an inspection once the b-pillar has been repaired in order to get either a salvage title or clear title depending on final destination. Let me explain further. When the car is damaged, it is a subjective call whether it deserves a salvage title or not. When that is decided, [in Colorado] it is given a salvage title. When it is repaired, it is inspected and then is given another title called a rebuilt from salvage title. Some States and American territories will just give it a regular title; but it will still maintain its carfax designation. This car is meant for someone who is going to keep it for 5 years, drive it, and then sell it. The salvage designation becomes less important as the car gets older; but at the same time you can buy it almost new now for a substantial savings. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you would like to personally inspect the car, please make arrangements 48 hrs ahead of time. On Dec-26-13 at 06:03:45 PST, seller added the following information: Please note an error in the listing title. This IS a reserve auction! On Dec-26-13 at 12:38:20 PST, seller added the following information: We have had a couple of estimates to both repair and replace the damaged piece. Either way is around $1,000. We have found a used complete B-pillar for $200 if you are interested in replacing rather than repairing. If the reserve isn't met, we will have it repaired and relisted. Thx.On Jan-01-14 at 08:49:14 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked if I will have the car repaired if they are the successful bidders. The answer is yes for $1000 including paint work done by professionals. [This does not include the radio] Car must be paid for before we will perform the repairs which should not take more than 2 weeks to schedule and one week to actually do the work.
