I'm starting a new TZ750 inspired project, so it's time to make room in the garage. This bike won Best Custom Café at the Chicago Mods vs Rockers and was featured on a full page in issue 11 of Café Racer Magazine (October 2010, page 76). This isn't some "fiberglass tail and a set of clubmans" Café. This bike has everything--from billet chain adjusters, fork preload adjusters, stem and sprocket nuts, to the little things no one ever sees, like tapered head bearings and bronze swingarm bushings.Spec sheet:PowerMotor--CB500T with Newtronic electronic ignition. Higher compression 450 head, polished covers, and two aftermarket finned aluminum covers also included.Carburation--Factory carbs replaced with Mikuni 32mm and K&N filters.Exhaust--Polished custom full stainless "pea-shooter" style 2-into-2, hand built by BCR.ChassisTail/Fuel tank--Custom fabricated in steel by BCR. Tuxedo black, ivory and silver paint scheme inspired by Ducati. Custom headlight bucket with internally mounted speedometer and genuine leather seat.Frame--battery relocated under tail. Steering head bearings replaced by tapered roller bearings. Superfluous tabs, brackets and center stand shaved from frame. Seat loop, exhaust hangers and rearset mounts welded on. All original fasteners replaced with stainless steel. Sidestand cut and lengthened to accommodate new geometry. Powdercoated textured silver-grey.Swingarm--Bronze swingarm bushings installed. Powdercoated textured silver-grey..SuspensionForks--Polished original lowers. New tubes by Forking By Frank--not pitting or rust on these babies. Factory internals with heavier oil and custom billet preload adjuster fork caps. Factory top triple clamp filed smooth and polished.Shocks--Hagon 360mm with 18kg springs.DrivetrainWheels--Polished factory hubs. 18 inch front and rear polished, shouldered aluminum rims laced with stainless steel spokes and nipples.Chain/sprockets--520 conversion with aluminum rear sprocket. Custom billet aluminum chain adjusters.ControlsHand--Vortex 35mm clip-ons. Polished original factory switches, levers and master cylinder/reservoir.Foot--Tarozzi rearsets with custom machined aluminum mounts.Front brake--Polished and rebuilt standard caliper with cross-drilled rotor.
