Up for auction with NO RESERVE!!! is a beautiful, fully restored 1956 Chevrolet Big Window Regular Cab Truck from California! No expense was spared during the restoration and all quality parts were used throughout. Beginning with the exterior, the paint is a factory Ford Teal blend which is a very unique color to see on hot rods and restomods. It is in excellent condition and really stands out from a sea of black and gray cars and makes a statement. The entire truck was taken apart and sanded down to bare metal before the 2-stage paint job was applied. There is NO RUST at all in this truck. There is one small scratch around 3 inches on the rear of the bed that could easily be touched-up as seen in picture below. When the truck was apart for sanding and painting a stepside bed from a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 was added for a more modern look and statement. The rear tail lights have covers that are just stuck on and can be easily removed if desired. The bed height was matched perfectly to continue on the flowing lines of the original 1956 cab. If you notice the cab corners of the truck have been customized and built out to match the step sides of the modern Chevy truck bed. No one ever takes the time to match the cab corners of an old step side truck to match with modern beds. The fuel tank was relocated to under the frame rails before the bed was put back on. The tailgate of the bed was also shaved for a cleaner look. The entire bed was painted inside and out along with the hard locking bed cover on gas shocks. The gas shocks could stand to be replaced and I do have a set that I bought for the truck a while back that I never installed. If I find the shocks i'll include them in the sale, only if I find them though. A roll pan was added to the rear instead of a bumper for a cleaner look. The cab was completely striped inside and out prior to paint. All the glass, rubbers and felts were removed and replaced. The door windows were converted to power windows and the door handles are from a late model Chevy truck. They give the truck a cleaner look I think. The doors open and shut nice. The bumper in front was replaced and color-matched with the rest of the truck during the paint process. The grill was also replaced with a rechromed grill. Since the engine was out during paint, the firewall and inner fenders were smoothed and painted for a custom show look. The engine bay is so clean you could eat off of it. After the painting was completed pinstriping was added by one of the most prominent old school pin strippers around "REAL RALPH PINSTRIPING". This was followed by one of his trademark cartoon paintings of a tiny "Jessica Rabbit" that was done on the rear of the bed for a custom touch. If you're not a fan of the pinstriping or cartoon drawing they can be easily wet sanded off and removed since they are done over the clear coat. The stepsides of the bed have billet aluminium installed on them for a sleeker look and to protect the paint. They really complement the look of the truck. The side view mirrors were replaced with more modern sleeker side view mirrors to finish off the look. This truck has less than 1,200 miles on it since the full restoration. The 350 V8 fires right up every time and has an automatic choke for cold starts that works flawlessly. The turbo 350 transmission shifts smoothly through every gear and goes into reverse flawlessly. The rear end is a Chevy 10 bolt with freeway gears and gives this truck awesome gas mileage. The suspension was completely redone and the truck has a front clip from a Camaro for more modern handling and ride. The rear has air shocks but the line needs to be re-hooked up to the valve stem to add air. I was considering adding taller shocks at some point but it is definitely not a necessity. This is a show/driver truck and was built to be driven. The brakes were completely redone front and rear. The front's are power disc brakes and the rear are stock drum brakes from the modern Chevy 10 bolt rear end, they all work flawlessly. The brake pedal is firm and the truck stops very well and completely straight with no pulling to either side and is a joy to drive without the worry that comes from most classic cars and trucks with out dated braking systems. The brakes are power and are dialed in giving you confidence in braking at all times. The wheels are 17" Weld Racing wheels. The tires are in fantastic condition with less than 1200 miles on them. They are Bridgestone Potenza's on all four corners. The rear are size 255/45/ZR17's and the fronts are 235/45/ZR17's. Both the headlights and turn signals were replaced as well as the lenses and they look amazing and function exactly as they should. All lights on this truck function perfectly including: headlights, turn signals, high beams, brake lights, backup lights, dash lights. Interior light I believe needs a bulb. The interior was also completely restored. a tilt column from a 70's Chevy truck was added for functionality and comfort. The steering wheel was replaced with a Lecarra gray leather-wrapped steering wheel to compliment the more modern column. The dash was completely shaved and painted to match. It looks amazing and really cleans up the inside of the truck. The gauges were replaced with a Dakota digital setup made specifically to fit this year truck. The gauge setup replaces the stock gauges and fits right in the stock position with no cutting required. The gauges works flawlessly and display vital information the stock gauges didn't. Everything is connected up and the displays are easily readable. The stock radio was replaced with a Blaupunkt head unit that sounds fantastic and allows you to listen to CD's and MP3's. The seats were replaced with a power Cadillac seat that is really comfortable and allows you to dial in your desired seating position. The power seat works flawlessly. The carpet is completely redone to complement the seat and door panels, there are no holes or tears. The headliner is also completely redone to match and in excellent condition. The door panels are completely redone to match the interior. The power window switches are mounted on them and the old crank is deleted. The door handles have been replaced with more modern counterparts to continue the theme. The power windows work great and go down smoothly. They could stand to be lubed as sometimes they need a little help going up. The entire HVAC system has been replaced with a more modern version and works great. This truck has a functioning heater, defroster and AC system that allows for a comfortable drive in any climate. It's been a while since the A/C was used so it may need a charge or may not. This truck has never seen rain so wipers and arms would have to be added. The wiper mechanism is still there and connected if you wanted to put wipers back on. This truck is in excellent condition and gets looks and thumbs' up everywhere you go. You can't take it out on a drive and not notice the smile it brings to peoples faces. It drives excellent and has never let me down or left me stranded. Here is your chance to get a completely restored BIG WINDOW for way less than the cost to build!
