Vehicle Detail
1983 LAND ROVER 110 STATION WAGON, 3.5L V8, RIGHT-HAND DRIVE 84350 ORIGINAL MILES GOOD CONDITION - RUNS GREAT - NO RESERVE Would be perfect platform for modifications, restoration or just turn-key driving - titled, imported and ready to go! I am selling an original, unmodified, un-restored, straight 1983 Land Rover 110 Station Wagon. Usual bumps and scrapes of a 30+ year old working vehicle. It is registered in New York state, with clean New York state title. It was recently inspected, passed without issues. It's UK VIN number is Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE SALLDHMV1AA188086. eBay's form won't accept this, as the format differs for US-market vehicles, hence the "11111111111111111". You can see a pic of the UK vin number in the picture gallery. No need to import it from the UK, it is already here in the US! If you have made it to this ad, you know that Defenders have well-earned reputation as a rugged, no-nonsense, go-anywhere 4x4. They are also very hard to come by in the US. This 110 spent the first part of it's life at a paper mill north of London where it was used to haul people and equipment, rather than in a mucky field - no doubt this helped preserve it. In the '90s it was sold on to someone who used it to transport tools and tow a trailer - again, on the road and not through muddy fields. It features a factory-fitted 3.5L Rover V8 (gas, not diesel), with twin SU carburetors. Runs and sounds great, especially through the stainless steel Rimmer Bros exhaust. It actually returns about 20mpg on motorway runs, better than I was expecting for a V8 with a 4-speed. Also has 2x new rear tires and oil/filters also recently changed in January. The 3.5L V8 is joined to a Rover 4-speed LT95 gearbox, offering full-time 4WD, both high and low range. Gearbox a bit noisy, these generally do become noisier as they get on a bit but are bomb-proof if looked after. I recently checked fluid levels on gearbox/transfer box and all OK. I also installed a newer tow hitch plus electronics. Battery was just replaced as well with a brand-new one. As stated, this 110 has the usual signs of wear on a 30 year-old working vehicle. There is some rust, but not as extensive as on other 110s from this period. The chassis is sound, and I previously repaired two spots near the top of the chassis rails (near the two hitch), as well as replaced the nearside outrigger. The foot wells were replaced about 2 years ago (see pics). Door bottoms need varying degrees of attention due to rust, and there is a small hole on offside lower bulkhead, near bottom Rear cross member has two dents, due to previous owner trying to attach trailer by himself. The title for this 110 states that it is a station wagon, without specifying how many people it can sit. Previously however it did have the longer-type rear bench seats, so in theory it could seat up to 12 people - however these rear bench seats were removed for insurance reasons (in UK many insurance companies have stopped insuring 12-seater Defenders), and never replaced. This 110 features the sliding 2-piece windows, as found on Series and MOD Land Rovers. Also - the original door cards have been left in place rather than replace them with later model plastic versions. The originals can be hard to find, I figured that someone more creative than me can refurbish them. Features: Factory-fit 3.5 Rover 3.6 liter Rover V8 w/ dual SU carbs. Recently serviced. Don't let the opportunity to own a motoring legend pass you by! These old Landies are getting rarer as the days go by, especially unmodified ones like this 110.
